  • We had a great stay in Ashland. The room was very comfortable and clean. Air conditioning was a great bonus as it was very hot when we visited. Downtown was a very easy half mile walk. Thank you Phyllis for letting us stay with you!

  • Phyliss did a wonderful job setting up our stay, arranging everything perfectly. A wonderful room and bathroom fully stocked with all of the obvious things, but also a nice coffee station. Hot shower, big comfortable bed, super cozy. The house is close enough to downtown that we had a nice walk there. We'll definitely be returning!

  • I enjoyed every minute of my stay! The room was spacious and charming! The bathroom was also spacious and creatively decorated. Phyllis seemed like a close friend that I had known for years---I'll definitely stay here the next time I'm in Ashland!

  • Great room in a quiet neighborhood within easy walking distance of Ashland downtown. We appreciated all the little details in the room, like the tray with coffee and tea and a few plates and utensils. The room has a separate entrance and feels like a bed and breakfast, but Phyllis was also very accommodating about keeping leftovers in the fridge and that sort of thing. It was convenient to come back and change clothes or shower between activities. Would definitely recommend to others looking for affordable, but more importantly, homey accommodations in Ashland.

  • Prior to arrival, Phyllis always responded kindly to my emails and questions. The details of the room were exactly as presented. It was very private, quiet and serene, and in a neighborhood of older homes conveniently located within walking distance of the town of Ashland. We felt very safe and secure there. The room itself felt like home, not sterile like a hotel room. It had a very large bathroom which was great. I would definitely stay there again.

  • Thanks, Phyllis, for a pleasant night's stay. I stopped in Ashland for one night on my way to Portland. I enjoyed the quiet neighborhood, the ability to walk to easily to restaurants in town, the shady green garden. The room and bath are spacious and welcoming -- great shower. I also enjoyed my conversation with the dear who was nosing for fallen apples under the tree outside my window.

  • This was a lovely room, in a quiet historic neighborhood. The room and the bathroom were spacious, and there were supplies for tea and coffee. I was at a conference downtown, and it was great to be able to walk to my course, or to restaurants.

  • We stopped in Ashland for a night on our way up to Portland and Phyllis' place was perfect! Very comfortable for two, with a private bathroom that has a really great shower. Though we never met Phyllis (got in kind of late after watching a show at the Shakespeare Festival), she was very accommodating and checking in/out was very easy. Highly recommend, and would stay here again if I'm ever passing through Ashland again.

  • We enjoyed our stay in Ashland very much. Our host Phyllis was friendly and allowed us to use the washer & dryer. The room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. We especially enjoyed siting in the shade on our private porch in the afternoons with a lovely view of the garden.
The wireless internet was fast enough to watch Netflix.
    Overall a very nice experience.

Some folks say I am "old Ashland". The greatest of compliments! Moved here with the '70's hippie pioneers...after all these years, I still walk out my door and am grateful for living in such a beautiful town. I raised 3 children here, returned to school and became an RN. I sing in a few community choirs, go for long walks/hikes, ride my bike instead of drive my car in town. I have a big yard with a garden, and my happiest moments are spent digging in the dirt with my 3 year old grandson who lives 3 blocks away. Enjoy the Shakespeare plays, movies. Spend time at the Y ( which is a very happening place here :). I travel when I can, having been to India and Ecuador most recently and have another trip planned in May. I enjoy a good laugh, am easy to be around, and I am reallly looking forward to meeting new travelers in my home.
