Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
An enchanting & romantic cottage in the jewel of the blue ridge mountains. Gardens, history, & romantic lore on an 1800s era farmplace, the Farmer & the Naiad cottage was once used as a summer kitchen, bunkhouse, & lovebird's nest for the farm.
Explore a beautiful 10 acres, be lulled to sleep by the babbling creek out the screened door balcony, walk the gardens, gaze at the milky way, and cozy up by one of the firepits.
30 mins. from Asheville, 10 mins. to Mars Hill

LGBTQIA & BIPOC welcoming.

The space
Sit on the large entrance deck during the daytime and take in the surrounding rolling Appalachian mountains, at night enjoy gazing at the milky way. With an open floor-plan, you'll love the light pouring in through the windows. Open the custom juliette screened railing door and fall asleep listening to the backyard babbling creek, wake up to birdsong.

Queen 4 poster bed, in the bedroom nook, as well as a queen-size sleeper sofa, while this cottage could sleep 4 adults, it does have an open floor-plan and is a romantic spot for two.

Every inch of this cottage has been reimagined with care. Custom Moroccan tiled bathroom, enchanting details, while there's so much to do in this corner of the globe, you'll never want to leave.

Coffee, herbal and black tea provided. An equipped kitchen with small stove, microwave, and refrigerator. Everything you'd need to cook a simple meal.

A small honesty pantry with local brews and a bottle of wine for your delight and convenience.

Updated to a dedicated wifi router inside the cottage this January (2021) it's been smooth (& strong signal) sailing ever since!

Access to housing is important. When you stay here in the restored summer kitchen of an 1880s farm house, you can be assured you aren’t contributing to the housing shortage crisis or corporate greed.

Our profits go back into maintaining a historic farm place & our local economy.
Farmer & the Naiad cottage has been rehabilitated from place that was uninhabitable when we arrived into a magical and beloved spot for romantics.

Elopements are welcome. For tiny weddings, please do get in touch.

Guest access
The Farmer & the Naiad cottage and its front deck are yours exclusively while you're here. The surrounding grounds, firepit, and trails are common spaces. There is a mowed path below the pond between the old orchard grove and the creek. We welcome your enjoyment of this place. We may be out and about gardening etc.

Other things to note
Living in the mountains, cell reception may be spotty depending on your carrier. We recommend setting the directions before you exit off the highway for the last 10-minute leg of your drive.

We have a dog, & he may bark (or yodel) when you first arrive, but he'll quiet down. The cottage is in the country. Bugs and flies happen. Our gardens and orchard start are 100% organic. We don't spray. While the space is comfortable most of the year by using the screen doors to allow the cool evening air in, the cottage is served by a quiet mini-split HVAC unit for your comfort.
