The space

The villa Le Corone is located near Otricoli in the province of Terni in Umbria, 60 kilometres from Rome (3 km. from the highway A1, exit Magliano Sabina).
It is an ancient farmhouse(of the XVIII century) recently renovated, maintaining its characteristics of typical Umbrian farmhouse with oak beams and floors and ceilings in brick handmade. E ' surrounded by an outdoor area with gravel and lawn of about 4000 m2,
It has a very beautiful view and it is 300 meters above sea level, the swimming pool ( 100 m2 open from May to September) is in concrete with a border of gray lava stone (marble typical of the area of Viterbo ) to insert it into the landscape , thus avoiding to create a fake too not in harmony with the simplicity of the place. The property is surrounded by a farm of 33 hectares planted with cereals and sunflower , which in summer offers a beautiful spectacle. Behind the house there is a forest of oak and chestnut , where, in August, you can pick blackberries.

We held a large gathering of friends and family at Elena's wonderful rural villa for a week during August. All of our group expressed to me how much they had enjoyed their stay at Le Corone, and were sad to leave. The kids had a brilliant time running wild in the large garden. The villa, garden and pool are all lovely, and are well matched to the host's description. I would say that the views out across the valley are even better than the Elena's picture gallery suggests, particularly at sunset! Elena was friendly, very quick to answer my questions before the trip, and gave us a short tour of the property on arrival. We spent most of our time beside the pool or enjoying large meals on the sunny area behind the house. We did a few day trips to the surrounding towns, and the local area is filled with interesting historical sites. A couple of words of caution. The villa is very remote (as expected), but our car's satnav once directed us to drive there via impassable farm tracks. The villa's garden is home to a family of cats who have become quite bold, so it's not a venue for cat haters. However, in summary, Elena's villa was an extremely good venue for our gathering, and I would love to return again some time in the future.

Very nice and quiet area. Perfect house for a big group. Pool was amazing! Otricoli about a 5-10 min drive. Closest train station about 15-20 min drive.

I was scouting for a place to that had very specific requirements, not too far from Rome, not too close, great views, a pool, nice gardens and plenty of space... this wonderful home covers all those requirements and so much more. If you're after rustic charm in a wonderful setting an hour from the airport, you will not find a better place. My only regret is not being able to stay longer.

This house was a dream! We traveled to Italy for our wedding with a close group of friends and family, there were 17 adults and one 9 month old child. Every single person told us over and over again throughout our stay that they could not have imagined a more perfect house to stay in for the week. Staying at Le Corone feels as close to a true Italian experience as you can have while on vacation, so if that is what you are looking for then I highly, highly recommend this location. The view from the front lawn is indescribable, there are plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate a large group, and they even had a crib and a high chair for our daughter. We spent most of our nights outside by the fire until taking it inside, and even cooked large dinners in the kitchen a few times throughout our stay. Due to visiting in the off season we did not have access to the pool but for those who do be ready for an amazing view while you relax! It can get cold in the off season but Elena was very understanding about us using extra heat, especially with our young child. Wi-fi works well, but don't expect perfect reception in every room, it was perfectly adequate in the main rooms though, which is great for being on vacation. It kept us in contact without being tempted to be too connected. Elena and her husband were wonderful. We kept in contact when needed using (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN), which runs off of Wi-Fi. One word of advice would be to try to get there during the day time if possible, it can be very difficult to find at night, though once you get the hang of it it is a fun drive! We got a little lost, and showed up late to our check in, but Elena and her husband were not only nice enough to wait around, but they also drove to find us and we followed them back to the villa. Otricoli is about a 5-10 minute drive away and a simple yet gorgeous town. There are beautiful surprises around every corner, a cafe with one of the most beautiful views of the countryside, and two main restaurants full of friendly faces. I would definitely rent a car if staying here! It makes it so easy to get anywhere you want! The villa is close to main roads to go both south towards Rome, or north towards Florence and everywhere in between!

The house is marvelous as are the surroundings : The view over the fields is breathtaking and the swimming pool is ideally located in the garden to enjoy the landscape. As for the house itself, it was spacious enough to welcome the 9 of us and still leaving us privacy (notably thanks to the numerous bathrooms) The lovely village of Otricoli is at a 10mn drive and has all the shops you'll need for your stay. Tu sum up, I strongly recommend this house and I hope that we'll have the chance to stay here again. Thanks Elena for everything !

The house itself was nice with lots of space. The kitchen was not very well equipped. For the price we paid for 10 days I would expect a higher and better standar. The outside area need some work doing on it. It is a lovely location and with some TCL it would be a beautiful place. The swimming pool is just made of concrete and no tiles. The whole family had sore feet by the end of our stay. It also makes tje pool look dark and not very delicate. The area surrounding the pool is lawn and soil, not very nice or confortable . The bbq area as vell as the area around the entrance is pebble so you have to put your shoes on whenever you want to move. Outdoor chairs very very uncomftable. Note that this place is very remote.
