120 m2 in the most beautiful square, the friendly neighborhood of Barcelona, with its own life. Two bedrooms, one with double bed and one with two beds, two bathrooms, living room with sofa bed high quality, large kitchen dining room and American style in the city center and well connected.
Floor typical late 19th century, totally renovated and decorated with touches you'll love.
A 2 or three subway stops from the center of the city (Plaza de Catalunya).
The "today" Barrio de Gracia historically corresponds to a small village near the ancient city of Barcelona current through the main street (Paseo de Gracia) and has maintained until today, its characteristics forming a very urban grid characteristic of ancient villages (narrow pedestrian streets, squares, many of them reserved for pedestrians)
A special area where you can enjoy the daily routine of its people, their children and get lost wandering the streets will become an adventure of new experiences. (shops, restaurants and places) I invite you to find out for himself.
As our guests said this is a great place for kids. Parents can let the kids run in the plaza while they eat dinner. Parents can see their kids from the balconies of the place too.
The flat would be available for stays of two nights at an additional charge of 40 €.
The apartment is fully rented. No need to share it with anyone else. It should be leaved in the same cleaning conditions in which it was received except linings and towels.

At the apartment you will find the following staple items in bathroom and kitchen, for your arrival, without any implication that reach to the total of your stay:

The provision of linen and towels will be:

It would be useful to know the composition of the group to prepare the rooms and beds
The building where the flat is a residential building with only 5 other flats each with families. You will find that you are located in a true Spanish “Barrio” or neighbourhood vs. a tourist flat. This should add to the charm of your visit as long as you respect the normal rules of any community.
You need to ensure the minimum possible noise and civic behaviour to ensure better relations with the neighbours. They are all very friendly but ask that you respect that this is their home where they live and work. Note: The stairwell is quite narrow (as many are in older buildings in Barcelona), we recommend that you bring smaller suitcases.
Rest times (from 21h until the 8:00) should be adhered to, please keep noise to a minimum and avoid running the washer, having on loud music or TV or making excessive noise etc. You can always go down to the plaza should you be interested in making noise where you will find plenty of company.
Coincidentally, next to the building is the town hall of this district and greatly enhances your safety and peace of mind as it tends to be manned 24 hours a day. In return, they also are there to enforce any rules where people are behaving poorly.
For your comfort, the flat has central heating and air conditioners in each of the rooms. These will heat and cool the flat quite quickly so please use them when you are there in the rooms that you are using but lower or turn off the systems if you will be out of the flat. Help us to do our part for global warming and use these responsibly.
When leaving the flat please:
•Close and lock the shutters. If they are left open and the wind starts blowing they can be damaged. This also adds greatly to your security.
•Close and lock all windows.
•Close off the air conditioning system.
•Ensure you have your keys, the door will lock when you close the door automatically.
•Avoid noise in the stairwell as much as possible.
•Close the door to the street completely (this too will lock as you close it).
You should leave the apartment in the same condition you received it. So it should be cleaning at the end of the stay.
Javier was very helpful throughout the our stay in this excellently located apartment. He made the whole stay effortless by arranging a taxi to pick us up from the airport and handover the keys. Quirky and original decor in a very authentic setting right in the heart of bustling and vibrant Gracia area. Would recommend if you want to experience Barcelona as a local!
We stayed in Javier's flat nine nights. It was the base for a wonderful experience in Barcelona. We were met at the flat in the morning (Javier graciously let us check in early) by another man also named Javier. He was friendly and explained all the necessary information about the flat. Javier (host) checked in with us mid-week to see if we needed anything.
The absolute best part of this listing is the location. We enjoyed being in an authentic Catalan neighborhood and were grateful for the quiet yet active square. We ate at most of the cafes and purchased "jamon iberica" and baguettes from shops on or close to the square. We really felt at home in this area. It is just a few blocks from three metro stops which made it convenient to get to all tourist sites.
Javier's flat had everything we need for a family of five. We had plenty of room for my husband, myself, and our three teenage boys. We never felt crowded and used the kitchen as our gathering place. The large doors to balconies overlooking the square and streets were an awesome way to greet the day and say goodnight to the city. We packed lightly, so used the washer several times and then hung our clothes on the line outside the window. Clothes would dry quickly while we were away for the day.
Don't hesitate to book Javier's place. It was part of what made our stay in Barcelona truly awesome.
Javier's apartment is as great as it is seen in the photos and the reviews, if not better. We were well hosted when we arrived and our questions are answered in timely matter.
Above all, what has surprised us is the location. The living environment is vibrant and full of everything we need. We were told that lots of people would choose places closer to the ocean side but based on our experience we can tell that Javier's place is in a wonderful area and no need to worry logistically because it has easy access to most parts of Barcelona.
In all, we enjoyed our stay very much and I recommend Javier's apartment to anyone who is going to visit Barcelona.
Javier and the apartment are beyond great. Javier keeps in constant contact and ensured that we had everything that we needed. He arranged for taxi service to and from the airport (over the holiday season) and promptly answered every question that we had.
The apartment is great. My friends and family were very impressed and will seek it out when they visit Barcelona. The apartment is large - 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The bathrooms are attached to each bedroom so you have privacy. The kitchen/dining areas are huge and the living room has a wonderful view of the plaça below (with a clear view of the clock tower!). One other amenity that I would like to point out is that the apartment has both a clothes washer and a dryer - that was key for us since we stayed 10 nights and did not want to bring too many clothes/suitcases.
The location of the apartment is outstanding. After walking around the Gràcia neighborhood, Plaça de la vila de Gracia is by far the best plaça in the barrio - by a longshot. Cafès, bakeries, markets, wine shops, etc. are all within 1 block of the apartment. You truly get a taste of living in a barrio in Barcelona. The apartment is a 5 to 10 minute walk to a major Metro station and close to bus stops that take you in every direction. My family (2 kids under 8) and I loved walking from the apartment all the way to Barceloneta and Port Vell.
I highly recommend a visit to Barcelona and if you go, I highly recommend Javier's apartment.
We had a wonderful stay at Javier's in Barcelona. He helped us with our taxi to and from the airport, checked in with us during our stay, and provided accommodations that were clean and comfortable. Best part of stay was apartment location, in a terrific neighborhood, easily accessible, not touristy at all. A few quirks to apartment, like big step into and out of main bedroom, but all in all spacious and again, quite comfortable. New would definitely recommend to fellow travelers.
Javier was very helpful and kept in touch throughout our stay. The apartment is on the main square in Gracia, which is a fantastic neighbourhood of Barcelona. Gracia was once a separate village, which seems strange as it's so central, but it has a village feel to it to this day. Watching the life of the square - kids playing, dogs, musicians, elderly people socialising and outdoor cafes and bars - was truly wonderful. The clock tower bells went off every hour, but the apartment has double glazing so it is not too loud. The apartment is very traditional and you will feel like you are part of the real Barcelona. The mattress was comfortable. The water tends to run hot and cold int he shower but it's an old building so that's understandable. There is heating and aircon but we didn't need either in October/early November. The furnishings could do with some maintenance and replacing, and the draws need some decluttering. The space is a good size. We were only 2 people but 4 could comfortably stay here as the kitchen is large and there is a separate living area. I would definitely rent this apartment again. Although it feels a bit worn out, it's still a lovely place to stay. The place was reasonably clean (there were dishes in the sink - clean but not put away). This is a good reliable holiday rental that needs some tender loving care, but has a lot of character and an amazing location, which makes up for a bit of scruffiness around the edges.
The apartment was one of the highlights of our stay in Barcelona. The location is excellent: Plaça de la vila de Gracia is a 5 - 10 minute walk from the Passeig de Gracia and a major metro station. The apartment is spacious and light, the main bedroom has a comfortable bed, a good amount of storage space, and an excellent bathroom. The second bedroom has a trundle bed and its own, smaller bathroom. This is a great choice for the fit and independent-minded traveler; as others have said the stairs are narrow and steep but not a problem if you’re used to climbing stairs. César will let you in and show you around, though he really doesn’t speak English. However, Javier was always available when needed - most conveniently by email but also by telephone. He’s eager to help his guests have a good stay, and is very honest. We cooked some simple meals in the apartment and Javier supplied us with an additional saucepan and supplies when asked. We loved the life of the Plaça, from the bustle and noise of late night activities to the early morning peacefulness of street cleaners and residents walking their dogs. There are lots of small shops in the neighborhood - bakeries, butcher shops, gelaterias and cafes, artisans’ studios as well as some good restaurants - and we always felt safe here. A main market, L’Abaceria, is about a 10 - 15 minute walk from the apartment. Be aware that shops do close for the siesta, and that food markets close early on Saturday afternoons and many stores are shut all Sunday.
