The Hamden Inn dates from the early 1840s. It contains two separate units, providing an ideal retreat for small or large groups. Enjoy activities like hiking and fishing plus the antiques, stores and restaurants in nearby Andes, Delhi and Bovina. The quiet town of Hamden is a relaxing place to unwind and this upstairs apartment is designed for long term stays. The inn is just a ten-minute drive from conveniences including a pharmacy, grocery store and a weekly farmer's market.
The space
The larger of our two apartments contains three bedrooms (two queen beds, one trundle bed), an eat-in kitchen, a freshly-renovated bathroom with small tub and shower, a spacious living/dining area and an office. The living area contains an L-shaped couch, additional seating, a large dining table and a smart TV where guests may use their own streaming accounts. This unit includes a laundry room.
The adjacent apartment may be rented separately to create one large space with two additional bedrooms, an additional bathroom, and an additional kitchen / living space. This separate listing can be found within our profile.
Notes: during the summer, we equip the bedrooms and living room with AC units. The small bedroom with a trundle bed is ideal for one adult or two children when using the mattress underneath.
Other things to note
This apartment is above a restaurant that is open from Thursday - Monday. This means that you'll only have to walk a few steps to grab food or drinks! It also means that there is other activity in the building, and while we expect noise to be reasonable, guests should know in advance that they may hear people coming / going during the day.
The restaurant generally closes by 10/11PM, but note that it can be open as late as midnight / 1AM on busy nights so this listing may not be ideal for those who are in bed early and/or averse to any noise.

Neighborhood highlights
The Hamden covered bridge (a ten-minute walk) is a great place to picnic, fish, kayak or just put your feet in the shallow Delaware River which runs underneath. Nearby country roads make for great runs and long walks, and a bank and post office are just a few doors away. Across the street is the Hamden General store which is slated to re-open in late Spring 2021.
