The space
For anyone looking for a countryside break this is the holiday for you. A stay with us is ideal for couples who love to walk, cycle or sightsee or families who want to spend quality time together surrounded by animals and nature.

We are in an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' and surrounded by brilliant places to explore. We are a walk to the wonderful Devils Kneeding Trough with amazing views across Kent to the coast and France on a good day!

The nearest beach is lovely Hythe which is about 20 minutes drive. We are also within 35 minutes of Dover, Deal, Whitstable, Broadstairs and Margate.

Sissinghurst is a must and can be reached in about 40 mins. Leeds Castle and other great houses and gardens such as Great Dixter can be reached with 30 minutes. Port Lymne Zoo (well more of a safari park) is about 15 minutes from us and is an absolute treat especially seeing the giraffe roaming around the Kent countryside.

Great eating can be found locally at The Kings Head in Wye who do an award winning Sunday lunch. They also have the Kings Shed for eat in or takeaway pizza. My sons personal favourite! Also worth knowing about is the lovely Wife of Bath for red wine and tapas at the bar or fine dining in the restaurant. The Five Bells at Brabourne is a great place for a drink and some seasonal food. A bit further afield is Rocksalt fish restaurant at Folkestone and The Pig at Bridge, both of which are well worth the 20/25 minute drive. Book first though!

ABOUT REBEL FARMER
Rebel Farmer is a plantsman and market gardener. His assistants live and work on the plot next door to the field. Everyone adheres to social distancing guidelines.

If you are interested in knowing more he does offer courses on growing ethically. Do ask if interested in one of his growing workshops.

We have hooked up with other brilliant local producers in the area so can with 7 days notice provide a box of meat or veggie breakfast ingredients or ingredients for a BBQ. For 4 people each box is £40. We do a smaller breakfast box for £24 which is more suited to two people maybe with small kiddies.

FACILITIES ON SITE
For cooking we have a bbq and basic facilities such as kettle, microwave and two electric hobs.

We have a basic gas shower on the field and compost loo. Both are private and for the sole use of our tipi guests.

We will set you up with a large campfire on the field and more logs can be bought from us at £5 a night.

If you love nature, need some green space and don't want to share your camping experience with strangers - this is ideal for you.

Guest access
Our almost 2 acre field is all yours!

Our compost toilet and camp shower are only for you and your party.

The mini kitchen and BbQ are just for you.

Other things to note
We recommend extra warm clothes for the evenings and slippers for the tipi.

Location

Kent, England, United Kingdom

In the lovely village of Brook at the foot of the North Downs.

The village is home to an agricultural museum we also have an excellent children’s playground with football pitch.

Brook woods is a wonderful walk. Great for den making. You can visit the forest school camp area. On the way you can look over at the Wye Community Farm sheep.

Brook Church is particularly historic. Dating back to the 11th Century the inside holds hidden gems. 13th Century wall paintings and amazing 14th Century floor tiles are viewed as some of the finest in the country.

In nearby Wye there’s a wonderful baker and butcher as well as a Co-op. There’s a great farmers market in Wye every first and third Saturday of the month from 9-12. Also check out Perry Court Farm for great grocery shopping.

If you can’t be bothered to cook, you can pick up a takeaway pizza from The Kings Shed or a curry from Joshan’s both in Wye.

For petrol head to Tesco’s which is 5 minutes drive.

We left London for Kent 5 years ago thinking we might return a year later. Now we have a homestead / market garden on the North Down’s. We travel less than we should..... Too many plant babies to look after.
During your stay
Due to the deep clean necessary in these times we have to be strict on departure before 11am and no arrival before 3pm. We deep clean and steam all the soft furnishings and facilities between each reservation.

So check in is anytime between 3pm and 6pm although there is zero checking in to be done! After 6pm we are less available as this is family time. However we are on site so will do our best...We may just be a little slower!

We appreciate you sending us an ETA and letting us know when you are leaving the tipi - really so we can say hello and check you have enjoyed your stay if we are able.

The Rebel Farmer team are busy on the plot a lot of the time but if they can they will be happy to talk about what they are up to!

An information pack with details and directions is emailed out prior to your holiday.
