Location

Blue Grass, Virginia, United States

Highland County has many nicknames: Virginia's Little Switzerland, Virginia's Best Kept Secret, and Virginia's Sweet Spot. Some call it a "Little Montana" because of our similar "Big Sky Country," and a blessed few are able to call it home. In addition to its remote location and expansive natural beauty, Highland County's maple syrup industry sets this locale apart from its fellow Virginia destinations as it is the largest collection of Maple Syrup camps in Virginia and is the southernmost commercially-producing Maple Syrup location in the United States. (And guests can visit sugar camps year round! Though, camps only produce the Maple Magic once a year - in March.)

Here are some nearby attractions and stops we recommend:
- Big Fish Cider
- The Curly Maple
- Virginia Trout Company
- Highland County Museum & McDowell Battlefield
- Snowshoe Resort
- Cass Scenic Railroad
- Seneca Caverns
- Cranberry Glades
- Greenbank Observatory
- Blackwater Falls
