The space
Fabulous View and lots of privacy. Plenty of off-street parking for boats, campers or multiple cars. (parking at angle works best unless you need more for trailers, etc.) MAXIMUM 6 Adults + Children under 18
This 3BR/2Ba home is over 1650 sf with lots of room for lounging and privacy.
The Master Suite boasts a separate efficiency kitchen (sink, hot plate, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator).
The kitchen is stocked for cooking and baking including basic spices....and, of course, COFFEE. We offer 2 full size refrigerators if you want to stock up at the Wea Market and just hang out for a day or two.
Each bedroom has a ceiling fan. We don not have A/C and personally don't know anyone in town that does. The nights are cool and brisk and all windows are secured in various ways so you can leave them open......and probably need a light blanket.
HOWEVER .... The few Hot days we do have are addressed in the MOST natural way. Each BR has a personal Evaporative Air Cooler (better known as Swamp Cooler). You can fill the reservoir on these and you'll be amazed how the NATURAL cooling, combined with aforementioned cool night breezes will lull you to sleep.
There is a 'WHOLE HOUSE' Swamp Cooler off the Great Room. It is plumbed and needs no attention: simply on/high or low -or- off. It is not installed year-round.
We believe that natural Evaporative Cooling at our elevation and arid high desert air is MUCH healthier for you than typical air-conditioning.
Bet you will agree!
My Husband grew up in SC and we both understand Heat & Humidity! (Why do you think we live here?) Often flatlanders (affectionate term) don't quite understand the difference 6,000 feet above sea level makes in temperature fluctuations. But........you'll LOVE IT as you experience it.
Fall & Winter guests will LOVE the natural gas baseboard heat! Encompasses you with solid warmth....again, without that humidity to cut through all your layers of clothes.
The Elkhorn Bar has drive-thru liquor sales and, there's off sale at The Cowboy Bar as well.
There are games, books and magazines to enjoy after a day of exploring. Enjoy 2 Roku TV's, both in GUEST MODE, and with hi-speed WiFi you can access all your Netflix, Amazon, Hulu Accounts, etc. Your personal information will disappear when you check out.
Yes, you may use the washer and dryer.
There is a propane gas grill & tools on the patio overlooking the mountain views.
The Sunshine Reservoirs are 7 miles down the road and offer fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding and water skiing so bring your water toys!! ................OR..................
With some notice, we can likely supply kayak, paddle board, cross country skis and boots and/or snowshoes.
Seriously......Meeteetse has it all! Check out >>>> findmeeteetse.info
Miles and miles of hiking trails await along the Wood River, which is also a Blue Ribbon trout fishing stream. In winter, Hunting, Ice Fishing and Cross Country skiing are popular pastimes.

Other things to note
Bring a jacket. Dress in layers because the nights and early mornings are wonderfully cool. The weather changes fast, Meeteetse is almost 6,000 feet in elevation and the trip to Kirwin will take you to 9,200 feet.
Sunscreen is a MUST, at this elevation the sun is very strong.
Don't forget your camera and binoculars. No telling what you might come across in these Rocky Mountains. Hikers must have bear spray and know how to use it. Grizzlies are alive and well in these parts.
Keep in mind that the Wea Market
is a great place to pick up supplies you need, it sells fresh produce, propane,
Hunting and Fishing licenses....Everything!!
Even a Deli!
They are TRULY a one stop shop.
