A view fit for a king! Our house is located on the spot where Prince Oscar (later King Oscar II of Norway and Sweden) stopped to take in the view in the Summer of 1870 and exclaimed: "This is the fairest view I have ever seen". You will be staying in a scenic spot with access to a unique cultural landscape, roughly 2.5 hours drive from Oslo.

The space
The house used to be a café, often frequented by the villagers who visited the local chapel (now a ruin, across the road). Later the house has been used as a holiday home. Today there are 4 good size bedrooms and a large living room space at this property.

The guest house is old, most of the furtniture and things are from the 70s, like the old café tables and chairs, yet the house is clean and safe with a fresh new bathroom from 2020. We will make sure you are comfortable and that the space is clean and tidy!

The kitchen is fully equipped with dish washer, fridge, coffee maker, water kettle, toaster, oven, microwave etc. There is both electric heating as well as two fireplaces.

Important to note:
* Newly decorated bathroom from March 2020
* The house is old - and the standard is basic/simple including old windows, creaks and cracks, stains and old furniture.
* There is no wifi subscription to the house, but 4G coverage is really good in the area.
* The house is close to the road, but the road no longer has heavy traffic (after opening of Hjartal-Seljord tunnel, E134 and heavy trucks no longer passes house).
* You will need a car to go to grocery store etc
* Children should not be in the garden / outdoor area without adult supervision due to small river running in the back of the house, a steep hill and nearby road
* About 100m to Nutheim lodging where you can a lovely 4 course evening dinner (reservation recommended!) or have a fancy lunch, or just a peak at their art collection
