Neighborhood highlights

Astoria has grown from humble beginnings, founded by John Jacob Astor, America's first millionaire, in 1810, although he never even visited the town that bears his name. It is the western end of the Lewis and Clark Trail and was first visited by the storied pair in 1805. The first U.S. Post Office west of the Rocky Mountains was established in Astoria in 1847. Astoria is known for tremendous Salmon runs and was the prime location for the fish canning industry in the early 1800's.
Our quiet little corner of Astoria is right over the water, literally sitting on wooden pilings over the Columbia River and just a few miles from the Pacific Ocean and the storied "Graveyard of the Pacific". Be sure to visit the Columbia Maritime Museum while in town, voted "Astoria's Best Cultural Attraction".
On the Pier, visit Coffee Girl for your morning latte, the Rogue Brewery for lunch or dinner, rent a kayak or stand up paddleboard from Astoria Scuba and Kayak, stop by Pranda Massage to soothe those muscles and then park your tired self on a park bench on the back side of the Pier for one of our amazing sunsets. Tomorrow will be even better!
