THE ROOST - A garden cottage retreat
Welcome to The Roost - a cozy cottage tucked into the heart of Burton, Texas. Here you will find vintage charm, thoughtful touches, and peaceful small-town energy. Walk to coffee and local eats, or enjoy a slow mornings on the porch. Just minutes from Round Top, but a world away from the rush.

We are happy to suggest local hot spots!

The space
The Roost is a place to rest and relax! We are here to make your stay comfy as well as cozy! You will have a Keurig for your morning coffee and a small refrigerator to for your convenience. Internet and Internet TV is available with fiber connection. This is tiny home living at its best.

The Roost is inspired by our Genuine Free Spirit chicken, Polly.

There once was a Genuine Free chicken named Polly whose adventurous spirit compelled her to hitch a ride in the back of her previous owner’s pick-up truck. Her loving family owns The Blue Willow Cafe in the nearby town of Burton. Burton offered scope for the imagination and places to explore. Once in Burton, she hopped out of the pick-up and made her way to a creative destination dedicated to those who can’t be caged.

Polly flew her coop to Flown The Coop. How cool is that?

Jeff and Tiffany Eckhardt share a passion for hospitality and love welcoming fellow travelers to their beloved Burton, Texas. Tiffany spent years as an antique dealer at the infamous Texas Antiques Week. Through her business, she befriended a couple who lived in a tiny cottage in Burton. When she learned their property was for sale, she knew she had to have it! A rainbow appeared over Burton the Saturday after they signed the contract.
