Interaction with Guests

With the front door code locks installed you are free to arrive at anytime after check-in without me having to meet you, But if you need anything....just give me a shout!

Getting around

If you don't have a car I suggest downloading the LYFT or Uber application to your smartphone. This is definitely the best and cheapest way to get around the city by auto. It's about a $7 ride to the downtown entertainment district! Or you could walk (app 7 mins) to the Farmers Market and Bicentennial Mall State Park area. There you can rent bikes or catch the free downtown bus loop (Music City Circuit) that runs from 6 am till 6 pm at 7th and Harrison. But just do as i do and walk...only about 25 mins to the downtown entertainment district!!

Other Things to Note

Check in is anytime after 4PM. Check out is by 11 AM. If you need in earlier, let me know. Please text me at checkout so i can let the maid know. She likes to start as early as possible.

  • I never met Rick but his home was beautiful and our little suite was so comfortable and inviting. The area of Nashville that this property is located in is up and coming so there are some rough looking spots along with some new cool businesses as well (we loved the Red Bicycle Cafe) in the vicinity but you can tell that everyone on Rick's street really cares for their homes and their properties and we felt very safe coming and going in the middle of the night. I had to pick up my husband from the airport at 2am and I didn't feel uncomfortable walking in the neighborhood at that time at all. The suite is completely brand new and it was incredibly clean. We loved that it had a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker so we could make breakfast and coffee/tea in the morning. It was also really nice that it came equipped with silverware/bowls/ cups etc. Rick was really very thoughtful when he set up this suite. It was also so close to Downtown and really anywhere we wanted to go in Nashville during our stay. We will absolutely stay here again next time we are in Nashville.

  • Rick's place was fantastic! Great location near plenty of good restaurants and not too bad of a walk or cheap cab ride to get downtown. Place was brand new and looked great, we really enjoyed our few days staying here!

  • My friend and I stayed at Rick's place in June 2014. We came to Nashvilel by hire car and found the place very easily - great location for access to and from the main highways. Parking was also easy - either on the road or drive.
The neighbourhood was calm, quiet and safe.
Everything was in perfect order when we arrived and Rick had left a list of local restaurants which was very handy for us arriving late in the evening and hungry!
Pharmacy, gas station, farmers market and main bus line stops all very conveniently and closely located near the house. A comfortable 30 minute walk into the centre of Nashville or a 5-10 minute bus / taxi ride.
The apartment was perfect for us as two friends sharing. Bed was huge, plenty of wardrobe and bathroom space, lots of towels and comfy bed linen. The decor and overall design of the house was lovely with cute porches and cosy interior.
We would highly recommend this place as a comfortable and convenient base for your trip!

  • The private suite was very clean and well kept. It is located in the front lower part of a home. The bed was firm but comfortable. There are glasses, bowls and plates as well as silverware which all can be washed in the small bar like sink. There is a front lower porch with two chairs to sit outside. We also enjoyed the use of the small dorm like fridge. This location is a few blocks from the farmers market and a few short miles from Broadway street. It was a good location for us and what we wanted to do. We were totally happy with this suite. We would like to mention that for some, the footstep sounds and bathroom flushings from those in the above living space may be bother some for some people. For us personally, it wasn't an issue. Rick provides a great room at a fair price. It was about a 10 mile, 15 minute drive to the airport which made it great for a early flight!

  • We had a great time at Rick's place in Nashville. The apartment was lovely and very comfortable and had everything we needed. Only a short walk (20 mins) to downtown so brilliant location. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends visiting the area.

  • Our first Airbnb experience was awesome and not sure our next place will live up to this. It was extremely clean, the bed was super comfy and he had all the little things to make our stay comfortable. I would highly recommended Rick's place to anyone and would book again in a second. If you use uber to head into town it's super cheap and easy and you can leave your car parked at Rick's!

  • We have just returned from a 2-week stay at Rick's studio apartment in Phillip Street, Nashville. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in his beautiful home and found it to be exactly as advertised. Every amenity that you would get from a 4/5* hotel was provided in this lovely place. The studio is about a 30 minute walk to Broadway (or a 5 minute taxi ride). There is a supermarket just 5-10 minutes walk away, a garage which sells almost everything just 2 minutes walk away and it is just around the corner from the Farmers Market, which not only sold fresh produce but also contained a variety of places to enjoy a meal. We walked a lot during our 2-week stay and felt totally safe in the area - even at 2 in the morning! Rick is a very attentive host and anything we asked for was there in a few minutes. This is our 2nd experience staying in one of Rick's properties and we cannot recommend it highly enough.

  • Rick was awesome, everything was just as he said and the pictures were spot on. The area is close to down town about $10 in a cab. But you're better off calling one then flagging one down, we were approached by some undesirables but nothing too scary. But don't let the minor point detract from a great property.

  • I was so happy with Rick's private suite. The room was clean, spacious, and offered every amenity a guest may need. Rick was courteous and very fast to respond. The location is conveniently close to downtown.

  • Rick´s place is great. The suite has everything we need for a good stay. Really cool. Location is good, around 30 minute-walk from the musical scene (but you wanna take the bus 2 block from the house because downtown is a bit hilly. The bus takes 5 minutes). I just wish I had met Rick. Ok, he left his phone number and tips on getting around, but I would appreciate if he had knocked on my door one time just to check things out (It would be easier to find a laundry or get a taxi at 5 am). Apart from that, a good stay.

I know your not coming to Nashville to visit me, but i will do my best to provide a great place to stay while you are in Nashville! I am a single Dad with 2 great kids off to college! I built this home 3 years ago and love living near downtown Nashville. I am an avid walker and most weeks put in 15 to 20 miles just walking from my home to the Historical Germantown area, Bicentennial Mall State Park, Farmers Market, State Capital, Legislative Plaza, TPAC, then on to Lower Broad, 2nd Ave, and Riverfront park where all the honky tonks are located! That total distance is just a little over 2 miles each way. I was in the USAF and Tennessee Air Guard for 13 years where i was a navigator on C-130's. After my military life i became a General Contractor and started my own business. After being in the country for so long i decided to try the city life. I bought a vacant lot in this historical overlay district and loved it. Since then I have built 2 more homes on this street. I do love this up and coming neighborhood. I also love to hike the mountains! I have summed 3 12,000 foot peaks in the Rockies and last summer my son and I summed 14,254 foot Long's Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park. I must admit - it kicked my ass ... but wow!... what a view! Leaves no doubt there is a God! I also love to kayak and travel. But the best times are with the kids. We love to play strategy board games..Settlers of Catan, Acquire, and Cashflow. I love Axis and Allies, but its hard to get them to play that! I also play in a Texas holdem Poker League...for points...not for cash! UPDATE: That's my first grandbaby...Walt....Born 19 November 2012!!
