The space
The cave was a 20-year DYI project, built by my husband and I, with the help of our kids and a few friends (ask to see the home video). There is more than enough space to share, so we want others to experience this unique retreat. In this 6,000 sq ft cave, my husband and I reside in the front half, as we are here to ensure everything runs smoothly during your visit. I mean it is a cave, we run off of solar and generator power, our water is welled, so we work to conserve our resources.

With that said, here are some things to note. We are about 6 miles off the main road, so allow yourself 30 additional minutes of travel time to get to the cave. The road is bumpy, but definitely drivable. Arrangements can be made for those not sure your vehicle can make it (EV's). This is the perfect place to disconnect, we have Wi-Fi, but it some areas of the cave, there's no service. You'll be too busy exploring and being entertained to notice.
Also, we turn the main generator to the cave off when our guests turn-in for the night, so please plan to charge your devices in advance. You won't be completely in the dark as we have motion censored lights throughout. Also, we have a family dog name Brutus. He loves our guests and welcomes your fur babies as well. His enters and exits through his dog door at the back of the cave so we hope that's not a problem and we can fix that if neccessary.

Your living space....has its own separate entrance in the rear of the cave, it can sleep up to 6 comfortably, with 1 shared bathroom, located in one of the main sleeping areas. The space is for your party only, so even if there is only one or 2 of you have the space to yourself. It comes fully equipped, with mini-fridge, toaster oven, microwave and coffee maker (coffee, snacks, water and condiments provided). There's a propane BBQ grill area and firepit located just outside your entrance (you'll need to bring your own wood though). Please note: wind conditions may prevent use of firepit, we are on a mountain top. For your entertainment there's Foos ball, darts, horseshoes, hiking, not to mention great sunsets and star gazing. For young kids we have tons of toys in the library, so they are sure to stay entertained. Coming soon will be a campsite for those of you who want to sleep under the stars. It's always fun to walk through the bone yard never knowing what strange things you'll see there. Also, The Museum at the Top of the Hill with the 1890s stamp mill and various mining equipment.

Guest access
My husband, and I live here in the Cave and will be here to make sure all things run smoothly, as living entirely off grid is quite complicated. There is a huge space in the back (the game room/common sleeping area) for your enjoyment. We do have TV's and classic movies for the kids to enjoy as you unwind for the night.

During your stay
The Cave Inn welcomes you to experience a totally off grid lifestyle, which makes it very complicated. Therefor it is imperative that myself and my husband are here to make sure your stay is comfortable, fun, pleasant and worry free.

Other things to note
Please be aware that the 6- mile primitive dirt road takes at least 25 to 30 minutes from the pavement to the Cave Inn, and it is drivable. Excess rain can wash out the road and fill up washes making it difficult to make it to and from the paved road (luckily, we don't get much rain). Dolan Springs has a couple of restaurants, a few little shops, a VFW, a post office, a Family Dollar, Dollar General and Dolan Station with gas, groceries and alcohol. It would be wise to buy your previsions before heading up the dirt road, you won't want to drive back down to the store! Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. We want you to get the best out of your Cave experience. Don't want to drive your car up, again that's not a problem, we can work out arrangements for transportation. We also have plenty of space, so if you have a group larger than 6, please message me directly and we can discuss. If you would like to have the generator run all night, we can do that for a $50. fee for the extra gas. Thank you!
