Welcome to our cosy house in Ballerup - your home away from home! We live in a very quiet area - so quiet you can hear the birds chirping! So we can assure you one of the best night's sleep of your life! The place is also ideally located for business travellers who work close by.

We have refurbished the entire place, including your large bedroom and private bathroom. We offer a homemade continental breakfast and occasional dinner at an extra cost. We look forward to welcoming you soon!

The space
You will have access to a large bedroom (with a nice soft queen sized bed) and private bathroom via a shared entrance. There is also an office desk and TV with access to Netflix and other streaming services in the bedroom, as well as a cupboard for storage of your clothes and other belongings.
Coffee and tea will be available in the room (you will have access to a kettle & Nespresso coffee machine), as well as a small fridge (this will only usually be turned on in advance when you notify us that you will use it during your stay) with milk/creamer for your coffee/tea (as required). Depending on our availability, a full organic breakfast can be provided for an ADDITIONAL fee of 25€ (approx 185 DKK) per person which includes latte style coffee and juice enjoyed in the comfort of your room.
We also can provide other things, for example an iron or a highcair/cot so if this is the case, please just reach out to us and we can arrange it no problem (we have young children ourselves!)

Guest access
You will have access to the bedroom and the private bathroom only, which you access via entrance through the front door. We lock off the rest of the house as we live there, so you will NOT have access to the kitchen unfortunately. Just to be clear, there are NO cooking facilities available to you during your stay.

During your stay
We will be at home most days (both in the morning and evenings). You are always welcome to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

We usually love to chat and interact with our guests to share travel stories and get to know you, however sometimes this is not possible due to other commitments. We apologise in advance!

We can easily have less contact when you check-in. Just let us know, if you'd prefer that.

Where you’ll be

Ballerup, Denmark

There are two supermarkets located only a 5-10 minute walk from our house. Ballerup Centre is located a little further away (a 20 minute walk from the house) and has a specialty supermarket, over 50 different shops, together with a variety of restaurants and cafes. Our favourite restaurant, Restaurant Jonstrup is located a bit further away (6.5 km from the house) in Værløse, so you will need a car to get to that one but we highly recommend for a more fancier evening out. If you're looking for something more affordable there is an Italian restaurant we like called Restaurant Avanti in Ballerup or La Rustica for burgers and brunch in the Ballerup Centre.

G'day and welcome to Denmark! I am a friendly, outgoing and bubbly Australian girl who got lucky in 2014 when I met my Icelandic husband Jóhann in Copenhagen whilst on an extendend world backpacking trip. We now have 2 daughters together - Freyja and Saga who are 4 years and 1.5 years old in December 2022. We also have a friendly black and white cat called Jasmine. We have lived in our newly renovated home in Ballerup since May 2019 which we bought specifically so we could get back to nature and host our family, friends and new friends from all over the world. Jóhann and I were both raised on farms in Australia and Iceland so we have a strong focus on the great outdoors, fresh air and appreciating this beautiful planet. We also love cooking and prioritising high quality, organic food. We have our own backyard chickens which are producing fresh eggs for us every day! Travel brought us together so it's no surprise we also both relish hosting and meeting new people. We enjoy nothing more than sharing our travel stories with you and hearing yours!
