Sunny one-bedroom apartment on the top (9th) floor with private terrace. Well-equipped kitchen, dining area, desk area, super-comfy bed. Safe, lively neighborhood close to a great park, public transit, shopping, amazing restaurants, and more.

The space
This sunny one-bedroom apartment has a living/dining area with a comfy sofa, a bookcase (with some interesting reads), and a dining table for four people. There’s also a desk area, one bedroom with a queen-size bed (with a fabulous foam mattress) and blackout curtains, one full bathroom, and a full kitchen. The huge private terrace has a table for four people and is great for entertaining (the view for New Year’s fireworks is awesome!).

The apartment is equipped with Wi-Fi, air-conditioning and a gas heater in the living room, ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom, and linens and towels. The full kitchen has a fridge with freezer, gas stove/oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishes for four people, and cookware.

The queen-size bed sleeps two comfortably. One additional person can sleep on the couch (it doesn't pull out, but is long and comfortable!) or the double air mattress.

Guest access
You have full access to the apartment. Wi-Fi is included, we have some cool books on the bookshelf, and there is a well-equipped kitchen at your disposal. There is a drying rack for clothes, an iron and small ironing board, a hairdryer, and a small electric fan/heater in addition to ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room (also air-conditioning in the living room). There is a cordless phone (landline) with service for making local calls, and we have a basic prepaid cell phone available for guests to use while they're in town.

We find that many people plan to be out exploring the city (or watching Netflix!) and don't care about watching TV, so we have a pay-as-you-go plan with DirecTV that is only available (for an additional fee) if you request for it to be activated. If you would like DirecTV access, please mention it when you contact me to book your stay, and I'll confirm the current fee. Note that DirecTV includes some English-language shows/movies with subtitles, but much of it is dubbed or original Spanish-language programming.

Other things to note
EARLY/LATE CHECK-IN/OUT FEE: We usually have some flexibility on check-in/check-out times, but our property managers charge an additional fee of $30 per early/late check-in/out (before 8:30 am or after 8:30 pm).

We work online so understand the importance of good Wi-Fi! The advertised Wi-Fi speed for our service is 10 MB. Downloading is usually pretty fast but uploads can take a while. We regularly stream videos and do audio calls via VOIP with no problems whatsoever. There are also lots of cafés with Wi-Fi in the area.

Buenos Aires does experience occasional power outages, especially during super-hot weather (the height of summer here is December-January). Power outages usually don't last very long, but it's something to be aware of! We'll do our best to keep you comfortable. In terms of staying connected if the power goes out, we do have a landline in the apartment, which you can use to make international calls with a calling card, and you can also get data on a local SIM card.

Our apartment is close to a major intersection, and although it doesn't face directly onto the street, you'll definitely hear some street noise, especially at rush hour. (City living at its best!) It quiets down significantly on the weekends and overnight, though, and I've never had trouble getting a good night's sleep here.

Where you’ll be

Buenos Aires, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Argentina

I love this neighborhood! Villa Crespo is an up-and-coming neighborhood (sometimes called Palermo Queens) with great cafés and restaurants, outlet shopping, and leather shops.

There’s a large supermarket just downstairs from our apartment, and lots of smaller markets, fruit-and-vegetable stands, bakeries, delis, etc. nearby.

Laundry service is available around the corner, there's a pharmacy on the corner, and pretty much everything else you'd need within walking distance.

The apartment is about a 20-minute walk from super-trendy Palermo (18 blocks to Plaza Serrano), but the area around the apartment is a very typical (and safe) upper-middle-class neighborhood. There's a lovely local plaza just a couple blocks away, and five blocks away is Parque Centenario, a huge park with an amphitheater (free concerts in the summer!), lake (not for swimming), playground, exercise equipment, artisan and antiques fairs on the weekends, and more.

Just three blocks away is Avenida Corrientes, with restaurants, cafés, shopping, and a subway stop.

Some of the city's famous leather shops, like Murillo 666, are right around the corner, and you're just six blocks from the popular Villa Crespo outlet zone on Aguirre street.

Tango fans are about 15 blocks from Villa Malcolm, La Viruta, and Salon Canning for milongas and classes.
