Welcome to our warm, traditional family farm, Zen Vouga, located on the outskirts of a rural village in Portugal.
Also known as Quinta do Fundo de Vila, sits on 1 ha of pure nature, in a tranquil and idyllic setting. This villa sleeps up to 10 people for family gatherings, retreats and the like. We welcome everyone, regardless of ethnicity, colour, credence or sexual orientation.
We have facilities for you to make your own meals and enjoy some relaxing time in Portugal's laid-back countryside.

The space
Zen Vouga is our family farm dating back to 1744. Situated in a region of Portugal known for excellent gastronomy, regional wines, and the largest thermal baths in the country, Zen Vouga is a perfect place to relax and replenish.
At the farm, our guests can view traditional wine-making facilities, an ancient wine press and cellar. We have also preserved a maize crib, barbecue and wooden oven, typical of Portuguese country homes. We have added a games room and a covered pool for the entertainment of our guests.
We have three fully-appointed houses on site for rentals.
This villa comprises of 3 bedrooms. Bedroom 1 contains a double bed. Bedrooms 2 and 3 each contain 2 single beds.
There is a large living room, with two mattresses and a double sofa-bed.

FYI, we have a separate house for our own use. This fourth house is not for rent.
We also have a wheelchair ramp for accessibility.
We welcome you warmly and ask that you treat our country home with care and respect.

Where you’ll be

Ribeiradio, Viseu, Portugal

The farm is located in a typical Portuguese village, quiet and with a friendly, hard-working population, where subsistence farming gives the motto to a quaint, pleasant stay. The neighbours are friendly and simple, always willing to help out whenever needed.
We are committed to keeping things simple and sustainable. We ask that you keep your showers short (we have solar panels and limited storage tanks, so please be mindful of the others so they too may have hot showers).
The farm is in a remote village in the countryside, so we don´t have a public sewer system and instead use septic tanks. We ask that you use only wash personal products like soaps and shampoos in the drains and dispose of toilet paper and any other thing in the waste bins provided.
Please help us preserve and maintain nature at its best.

I have lived in 8 countries in 3 continents and been to over 50 countries, in 4 continents. My main mottos are: Do not use or buy what you don't need. What goes around comes around, do good and good things will happen to you, or maybe not, at least if you are expecting things to happen as you want them to. Do good without expecting anything in return, rather because it is who you are!
