Stay on a working Hudson Valley livestock farm, surrounded by rolling pastures, grazing animals and the sounds of farm life.

Collect fresh eggs, meet the animals, or relax in a hammock overlooking the pasture and end the day around the fire pit under the stars.

Families have stayed at Kinderhook Farm since 2011, with many returning year after year. The Farm Stay is inside a restored barn with an open, screened side overlooking the pastures. It's comfortable, rustic and connected to farm life.

The space
The Farm Stay is housed inside a beautifully restored historic barn overlooking Kinderhook Farm's pastures and grazing animals. One side of the barn is open and screened, bringing in fresh country air and keeping you connected to the sights and sounds of the farm.

The open, loft-like space comfortably accommodates up to four adults and two children. There are two semi-private sleeping areas, each with a queen bed, dresser and sitting area. One also includes a trundle bed suitable for up to two children. Canvas draperies can be drawn for additional privacy.

You'll also have a full bathroom with handcrafted cedar details, towels and linens, plus a fully equipped kitchen for preparing meals with ingredients picked up from the farm or nearby Hudson Valley markets.

Outside, settle into one of the hammocks overlooking the pasture, cook dinner on the gas grill, gather around the fire pit or enjoy a meal at the picnic table while farm life carries on around you.
Traveling with little ones? A portable crib and high chair are available upon request.

Guest access
The entire Farm Stay barn is private for farmstayers, plus the area immediately around it with grill, swing and hammocks. When you arrive, please park your car along the board fence on the track driveway towards the Farm Stay barn (and not on the lawn).

Kinderhook Farm is a diverse working farm so there is always something happening. You can partake in farm chores like feeding chickens and pigs, collecting eggs, or checking the pastures of sheep and cattle. But you don’t have to work! Feel free to just relax in the hammocks and enjoy the farmscape, or take a hike on the farm trails and do some birdwatching! We take pride in the natural diversity and ecologies supported by our farming, and those experiences are as important to share as our work with the animals.
