The space
Welcome to our cozy Epoufette cabin, built in 2007 and shared with guests since 2019. Tucked in the Hiawatha State Forest, this “Up North” retreat is perfect for outdoor lovers and families alike. Step outside to immediate ORV trail access, cast a line in 100s of miles of trout streams, or chase Michigan’s native brook trout, salmon, and steelhead. Explore nearby gems like the scenic Cut River Bridge and the Garlyn Zoo, then return to the peace and comfort of the cabin. Whether you seek adventure or a quiet forest escape, our cabin offers the best of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Guest access
Guests have full access to the cabin and yard during their stay. From mid-October through early April, my father-in-law lives next door with his friendly dog, Princess. He’ll respect your privacy but is happy to help if needed. Guests are welcome to pick apples from the trees in the yard and use the stacked firewood by the fire area to enjoy cozy nights under the stars.

Neighborhood highlights

We are 7 minutes from Cut River store for any drink or snack needs you may have :) We are around 6 minutes from US2, and you can hop on your ORV to a trail from our driveway! 20 minutes from Trout lake IGA for groceries, souvenirs or misc items you may have forgotten. They really do have a wonderful supply of everything it seems. For gas, due to the pandemic many stores have been forced to close but there is still Gustufsons on the way to the cabin off US-2 or Marks Trading Post past the IGA (they also carry minnows)
