Experience compact comfort in this naturally lite cozy space that’s just big enough for two.
This is the newest most economical version of an Earthship Studio, with all the commodities of a conventional home. A great way of experiencing the comfort and that special feeling that you get from staying in an off-the-grid Earthship...

The space
This Simple Survival Earthship is the newest most economical version of an official Earthship, one of the most evolved and comfortable off-grid house on the planet.

It grows plenty of fruit and vegetables, it catches and stores rainwater and uses the energy of the sun to power your wifi and provide a beautiful hot shower when needed.

It uses thermal mass to keep cool in summer and provide toasty warm comfort in winter and 40% of it is constructed using recycled materials (tires, cans, bottles).

It is filled with light from its glass front, which also provides the most wonderful views both day time and night time (no light pollution here!).

This is a great opportunity to stay in the logical houses of the future, named not without reason, one of Lonely Planet's top 10 eco stays for 2014.

Where you’ll be

Taos County, New Mexico, United States

The Earthship is located in the Greater World Community, the world's only Earthship subdivision.

Started in 1994, this Earthship subdivision is the only official off-grid subdivision in the world and encompasses 630 acres of rolling sage-covered mesa with a deep gorge and beautiful views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

The sunrises and sunsets are special every day, and the non-existent light pollution makes star gazing one of the favorite activities of visitors and residents alike.

Feel free to stroll along the main community road if you choose (you will get a pass that gives you access to it), we just ask you to please not approach the homes- they are private.

Guests have access to the Earthship Visitors Center FREE OF CHARGE to learn all about Earthships. This will also be your meeting point to check in. A free tour is included in your rental price.
