Nestled on a magical, wooded mountainside deep in the Northeast Kingdom, the Analog Cabin is a dream come to life. It sits in the middle of Mossflower Hill Farm, a small 2-acre farmstead surrounded by thousands of acres of forest. Wake to the sunrise over a gorgeous mountain range. Play, write, and record music. Work on that novel you’ve been putting off. Read. Listen. Unwind. Minutes from Caspian & Shadow Lakes, Parker Pie, Craftsbury Outdoor Center, Hill Farmstead Brewery, and ski resorts.

The space
**Read this: while there IS electricity, this is a rustic cabin — water comes by operating a foot pump under the sink. There is a shower house and outhouse outside the cabin. You’ll need to bring a couple bundles of firewood in the winter AND be okay with using an outhouse.**

**As much as we love them, no pets in the cabin — not even our own dog.**

One night when I was very young, I had a vivid dream of living in a tiny house in the woods. I still remember every detail — a little kitchenette, a cozy bed, some skis outside the door, a whole mountain range out the front window. In October 2019, my late brother and I finished the Analog Cabin. Life has changed a lot, but it seems that particular dream has manifested.

Named the Analog Cabin because it’s also where I write and record music, this cabin has been a true labor of love. Each of the logs weighs between two and four thousand pounds. Every notch was carved by hand. We improvised a lot as we went.

As you approach the Analog Cabin, you’ll notice you're climbing higher and higher. That’s because you’re entering the highland snow belt of Beach Hill, a veritable Narnia within an already snowy state. As you pull into our little pocket of the forest, the cabin will appear through the trees.

Inside you’ll find a luxuriously comfortable American Leather Comfort Sleeper queen-sized bed, a writing desk/table, a bookshelf made of repurposed antique delivery boxes, and a tiny kitchenette with a mini-fridge, induction cooktop, and toaster oven. Then there’s our trusty wood stove in the corner, ready to heat the cabin and create the perfect atmosphere on cozy nights. Spring, summer, fall, winter — The Analog Cabin is a fairytale come to life.

You've got the cabin, porch, outhouse, and showerhouse to yourself. Our property houses myself and my girlfriend Jenny, as well as our friends Meggie and Josh in the other house. We love having friends and family visit, so you may see others around as well — so while it may not be a complete hermitage, everyone here is friendly.

The Analog Cabin is a full-fledged recording studio that's at once minimalistic and highly capable.

The motorized sitting/standing desk holds two near-field monitors, an Auratone 5C mixcube for mono reference, a modular synth, and a Universal Audio Apollo Twin interface. I have Shure SM57, SM58, and SM81 microphones, an EV RE-20 mic, a Princeton Reverb amp, and a Novation Launchkey 49 midi controller.

If you wish to record yourself, let me know in advance! You are welcome to record your own music using this equipment and your own computer/interface, and you are responsible for any damage of course. I can also engineer/produce for an additional $25/hour. I use both Ableton and Logic Pro and have virtual Arturia synths, Spitfire Orchestra library, XLN Addictive Drums, and other software suites.

I have recorded entire albums in this cabin. You can find my music under Glorious Leader (Spotify, etc.).

**Our house is about 50 feet from the cabin and is fully visible from the porch.

**You’ll need to bring bundles of firewood to help keep our supply in stock (1-2 per day). We’ll tell you the best places to get a bundle once you book, including a discount code for our local store.

**Kitchen includes a hot plate, toaster oven, and mini-fridge.

**Driving in the Northeast Kingdom in the winter is no joke. Snow tires are an absolute necessity. All-wheel drive is recommended. Our road and driveway are plowed.

**The cabin is about 12 minutes from the supermarket in Barton, 12 minutes from the Craftsbury General Store, and 15 minutes from the Willeys’ Store in Greensboro. You are nearby tons of pristine lakes and rivers, the best brewery in the world (no joke — look up Hill Farmstead Brewery), the best cheesemaker in the world (Jasper Hill Farm....also no joke), nordic skiing at Craftsbury Outdoor Center, mountain biking at Kingdom Trails, and ski resorts such as Stowe, Burke Mountain, Jay Peak, and many more.
