Comfy bed for better sleep

The room-darkening shades and extra bedding are loved by guests.
Sitting at the forest’s edge with 12’ of glass doors, Daniel Cottage has:
- Huge deck w/propane grill & fire pit, cafe table & lots of seating.
- Comfy Great Room has HD tv +Netflix/Prime & fully equipped kitchen w/table for 4.
- Then add two queen bedrooms
- Put it all at the edge of 75 acres of beautiful, natural forest ready to be explored. Two ponds (4 & 6 acres) offer fine fishing. Hike the 3+ miles of pond & forest trails or sit back & enjoy the beauty of the Virginia countryside.

The space
Daniel Cottage is private, modern & comfortable with everything you need for a great stay. Comfortable furniture, full kitchen, modern bath, washer/dryer, and more. Internet is LTE but works great for TV and Zoom. For TV, there’s Netflix, Prime, HBO, Disney+ and other log-ins on the smart TV. While broadband isn’t yet available we find that computer, music, Zoom, and tv speeds are just fine.

According to our guests, the two queen beds are very comfortable and the entire cabin is efficient, spacious, and designed to ensure that we'd be comfortable there ourselves. We know you'll love it. There is also a workspace with WiFi, desk, desk chair, and area lighting.

If Daniel Cottage is unavailable, please check out AirBNB for “Dinwiddie Couples Getaway- Wells Cabin @WeldanPond” for a one bedroom alternative. These two guest houses are over 100 yards apart and there’s plenty of space for all.

Guest access
Guests can access all 75 acres of pond, meadow, and forest. There are no other buildings accessible because everything you need is in your Cottage.

Neighborhood highlights

Dinwiddie County is very rural and that’s one of the things our guests love about being here. Still there’s lots to do on site and off. For Civil War buffs, we’re just minutes from Pamplin Park, Petersburg Battlefield Park at Five Forks, 15 minutes from Petersburg, and under 40 minutes from downtown Richmond. There's great fishing on one of our two ponds and great opportunities to Relax, Create, Connect, and Discover a wonderful rural world, and the simple but stunning beauty around us here.

I'm a retired CEO from a mid-sized distribution company and my wife has done an amazing job of raising our best friends - our two adult daughters. I retired in mid-2016 and retirement has been wonderful but its been even better since our purchase and renovation of Weldan Pond. The property was Beverly's grandparent's and parent's place but had fallen into serious disrepair. Now we're enjoying it and inviting you to enjoy it, too. We've traveled in the US and Europe extensively but we've fallen in love with the country life as well. We'd love to show you around.
