Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
A winding trail leads down to Kotsu, a whimsical miniature, perched above rural Lookout Valley. Entering through shou sugi ban front doors, you'll find a full kitchen, living area, and powder room on the main level. Inspired by Japanese nature-inclusive designs, a covered exterior stair leads down to the bedroom and a spacious master bath. The fragrance of the cedar timbers, simple luxuries, and intentional flow of the design will put your mind at rest. Come stay!

The space
Kotsu is a two level tiny, with living areas and a half bath upstairs, and a separate bedroom and bathroom downstairs. To be clear, the levels are separated by an exterior stairway!

Japanese-American woodworker and architect George Nakashima designed his studios and workshops to exterior separation, encouraging his family and colleagues to pass through nature between human structures. This idea of including nature and a breath of fresh air into the normal flow of home and work life inspired the unique design of this tiny house.

Everything!

Other things to note
NOTE! The trail is built with sections of native stone and logs, and has some steeper steps and slopes in places. Guests with any mobility issues may find the walk to and from the parking pad too challenging.

Hello! As a mommy to two beautiful girls, my days are filled with a lot of laughter, games, reading children's books, playing dress up, and being kept on my toes. Add to the mix two dogs and a husband and there's never a dull moment! I love the city we live in and all of the varying kid-friendly activities, restaurants, outdoor adventures, and beautiful scenery from the mountains to the rivers that it has to offer. Family time is the best time in our books. Our intention is finding ways to make that happen as often as possible, and getting to see new places from time to time is just part of the fun. As a co-host, I am passionate about ensuring our guests have the best time possible on their getaway experience!
