Johns Island has a rich history in Thoroughbred horses. The first horse races in South Carolina were held in Charleston in 1734. Edward Fenwick began breeding TB horses at Johns Island's Fenwick Hall. He became a pioneer of Carolina TB horses by importing the Godolphin bloodline from England. In 1758, the South Carolina Jockey Club was founded by Fenwick and in 1791, the Golden Age of racing in South Carolina began. The Jockey Club purchased land on Rutledge Ave for the Washington Course.

The space
This 1791 race track, the Washington Course, is now known as Hampton Park today. In the modern era of TB horse racing, the South Carolina training centers of Elloree, St. Mathews, Holly Hill, Camden and Aiken became prominent when breeders from all over would send their young horses to learn the ropes or send their race champions on winter breaks here. Such great race champions as Secretariat, Ruffian, War Emblem, Palace Malice, and Shackleford trained here.
So it is with this history in mind that we have created a most unique vacation rental experience, the Triple Crown House. Our decor honors this elite racing accomplishment; winning the Triple Crown which consists of 3 of the most difficult races in a single year for the 3 year old Thoroughbred horse, the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness and the Belmont Stakes. Only 13 horses in history dating back to 1919 have done this. You will enjoy the racing memorabilia collected to showcase the events though it's history. Along with a video library of famous racing movies and documentaries.
Once you book with us, a Grocery service are just a click away so your house will be stocked with all your requests before your arrival. This 2 bedroom, 2 bath home overlooks the horse pastures of Eden Wind Farm, and will bring you the quiet serenity that farm visitors are often seeking. You will find every thing is new and sparking clean, well appointed accommodations with all the amenities you could ask for. Everything is new in this open floor plan which offers 3 TVs with DISH network, a DVD player and movie library, wood burning fireplace, covered deck, and a large master suite with queen bed, your private bath has a separate shower as well as a luxurious garden tub. The guest quarters offer another spacious queen bed, walk in closet and bath with a shower / tub at you door. There is a full size washer and dryer off the kitchen in the mud room. Enjoy an evening sipping Bourbon, sitting on the deck. The kitchen is completely equipped for making home style dinners. As for outdoor activities you can take a riding lesson, do some fishing in a stocked 5 acre lake or jog on the miles of trails on the 44 acre property. Fabulous beaches, great shopping and golf are but 15 minutes away at Kiawah Island. STRP #12-20-257 This rental is not suitable for children.
