This 1890's farmhouse is located in rural Hampshire County, West Virginia. It is suitable for families, retreats, reunions, and quiet vacations. Come out and enjoy the gentle breezes, starlit skies, and view of the mountains.

The space
This 1890's farmhouse is located in rural Hampshire County. It is situated on 140 acres of open farmland and woodlands. Close to the main road for easy access, the area can also be explored on foot or bike. It is close to wildlife management areas for those interested in these activities or hiking on long trails. We have just completed the fourth chapter in a series of improvements, each one adding comfort and beauty. It is suitable for retreats, families, and getaways. There are four bedrooms, three with full size beds and one with bunk beds. There is also a sleeper sofa in the game room. The kitchen is equipped with vintage sink and cabinets, refrigerator, electric stove, and a Home Comfort cookstove along with everything you need for cooking and eating. The sun rises at the windows of the sunny breakfast room. Nearest grocery store is 10 miles away. Nearest movie theater is 45 minutes.
We think this place is an excellent location for group projects of all kinds--musicians' workshops, writers' or artists' retreats, permaculture projects, running or bicycle training, hunting retreats... the possibilities are endless!
We like to bake bread, so there will be a loaf of homemade bread for you when you arrive and a morning treat of your choice--the sticky buns are epic! We provide breakfast items for the first few days.
There is ample outdoor furniture and a large picnic table for outdoor dining. There is a chimenea to keep you warm on cool evenings as well as a firepit for roasting marshmallows.

Guest access
Parking is available just outside the front yard. The best way to get around the neighborhood is on foot or bike. If you stay long enough, there may even be opportunity for a hay ride! Of course, your car will work too.

Other things to note
One full bathroom is on the second floor. There is a 1/2 bathroom on the main floor and an antique shower/tub plus sink and washer/dryer in an outbuilding adjacent to the house.

Neighborhood highlights

We love the fresh air, the gentle breezes, the night skies, and the sounds of frogs and the twinkling of fireflies in the summer. You can step out of the yard and start walking along a country road that goes in more directions than you will be able to explore. Take a bike ride on our bikes or bring your own. Hike in our grasslands and woodlands or hike in a wildlife management area about 4 miles down the road. Or just be still and await the beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
