Ocean and city views

Guests say the views are lovely.
Artists cottage in the Kona upcountry town of Holualoa. Surrounded by coffee farms and quaint shops, galleries and restaraunts, you will find peace and quiet and breathtaking views of the ocean down below. We have cooler temps and a charming town, which is walkable from the cottage... yet only 10 minutes away from the beach. The best of both worlds!
Our guest cottage is secluded from the main home on the property, so guests will have a very private experience during their stay.

The space
Guests will enjoy absolute privacy during their stay. Enjoy the use of the entire cottage to yourself along with a 1/4 acre of yard space all to yourself. Killer views, quiet neighborhood, nature galore, and walking distance to Holualoa village.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire upper lot on a total one acre of property. No share... guests will enjoy absolute privacy during their stay.

Other things to note
The Holualoa Climate..

Summer is our wet season Kona wide.. especially upcountry Holualoa can be quite wet. Count on a daily dose of rain at the cottage. Temps are warm and humid.. we are a good 10 degrees cooler then beach level, so air conditioning is not necessary. We hover around 80 degrees in the afternoon.

Winter is when things dry out some. It’s not unheard of to go a week or two with no rain! Holualoa can be chilly in the morning and evening hours during winter months..so long sleeves are a good idea. Although, once the sun is out… winter has the best weather on the planet here in Holualoa.

Fall and Spring seasons are best described as a combination of both…🌈🌈

We are a family of four who relocated to the Big Island of Hawaii from Berkeley CA in 2017. The dream was to purchase a piece of land and create our own slice of heaven from the ground up. We managed to acquire an acre property in the charming town of Holualoa...from there we built two homes and our art studio. The first structure to go up was the cottage, which is now our Airbnb rental. We lived in the home for one year while we built up the rest of the (Website hidden by Airbnb) is a charming, comfortable home that we now get to share with our guests. This process was a labor of love...blood, sweat, and tears (LITERALLY) went into this for several years. We started with an acre of weeds with a killer view and ended up with a beautiful place that we are now proud to call home. We (Michael and Akiko) are both working artists. The art studio can be seen from the cottage lanai..south of the main home...this is where all the magic happens. The cottage is mostly decorated with our own paintings. If guests are interested in the work, we welcome visits to the studio. The other two of our "four" is Sumi, our 19 year old daughter and Luca, now a sophomore in high school. We also have two beautiful pups..Maui and Hina. :) We welcome you to come visit this beautiful place we are so proud and humbled to call home. Mahalo Nui Loa The Cutlip Ohana
