Check In
  • Paul was an engaging and hospitable host who ensured my stay was very pleasant. His home is cosy, plus it has character and a friendly atmosphere.

  • Paul could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Easy going and hospitable. The house is very well situated within an easy walk of the centre of Wetherby with its great restaurants and pubs. Use the address rather than the postcode in the sat nav ....we ended up at the back of the house in an alley.
Good nights sleep in the big front bedroom and a nice hot shower in the morning. Would recommend.

  • Wetherby and Paul's place wasn't at all what we expected! We really enjoyed staying here. Paul is very welcoming and we enjoyed some nice time in the garden. Opposite the house there's a large park, and the street is very quiet, so we slept very well :). Supermarkets, pubs and restaurants are walking distance; Wetherby is a very nice place!

  • Paul was very accommodating and pleasant. Lovely house. Felt very comfortable and welcome. The bathroom was very clean and tidy. The bedroom was cozy.
The location was convenient and there were many easily accessible shops around.
I stayed just for 3 days for a conference and hardly had time to socialise with Paul but the brief interaction I had with him led me to believe he was a very interesting person with lots of thoughts and ideas which were exciting.
I would recommend staying with him and would do so again if the necessity arose.

  • Paul was a very kind host. He offered to share a bottle of wine with us the evening of our arrival, but, unfortunately, we were too tired to stay up and join him. We did have a chance to chat with him for awhile and enjoyed it. Paul had to set up an extra bed to accommodate our family of five. He did so and even went shopping in the evening to get some things for us and our children. We arrived a little early and he was a bit behind schedule since it was a busy time at work, but we were both flexible and easy going and it all worked out for everyone. Our kids enjoyed the playground across the street. Paul clearly is proud of where he lives and wants visitors to see that same extraordinary place that he does. That is nice.

  • Our first experience of Airbnb this has left us eager to do this again. Paul was a delightful and considerate host, and very good company. We were extremely comfortable. The house is situated only a very few minutes from the centre of Wetherby, but overlooks a park, has a back-garden where one can sit or eat, and where it is amazingly peaceful for relaxation. Wetherby itself is a quiet but charming small town . There is a frequent bus service to Leeds and Harrogate. It is half an hour from York (a tourist must), but the bus service stops rather early. However, Paul also made the generous offer to pick us up should we get stuck. Like most of his guests, I imagine, we came away feeling we had made a real friend and look forward to seeing him in the future.

  • We had a a really good stay at Paul's lovely house. The room was nice and tidy and we shared a gorgeous blue cheese pasta dinner with some wines. Waking up was great in the light, relaxing and cosy room. Would definitely stay here again!

Photographer, writer, video producer, creative director and restaurant consultant.
Freelance writer, photographer, video producer and director of a biomimicry based charitable foundation. I enjoy travel, cultural diversity and meeting people. I'm sociable, like good conversation and a chuckle! Respect people's privacy and space however! Currently there is only myself in this friendly house! : ) Some of my favourite places and recent visits include Xiamen, Shanghai, Sardegna, Barcelona, Madrid, Segovia, Paris and Wroclaw in Poland. I'm located halfway between east and west coasts of the UK, and 200 miles equidistant between London and Edinburgh .. two of my favourite cities here in the UK. Wetherby is a great stopping-off point between the two, or for the nearby cities of York for its history, Leeds for its dynamism in its architecture, industrial revolutionary history, shopping and leisure activities, or Harrogate for its conference centres and pleasant lifestyle. Wetherby is a most pleasant historic market town with the beautiful River Wharf flowing through, and is one of the gateways to the wonderful Dales and beautiful North Yorkshire Moors. I am located directly opposite a park and all amenities including pubs, restaurants, supermarkets, post office, library (inc tourist info) and a great range of shops are all within 7 minutes walk. We also have some of the cheapest petrol for miles around! (Morrisons and Shell stations are very close by and with Sainsbury's petrol station (often cheapest) is just outside Harrogate about 7 miles away). Whether you find yourself in my spacious front double room or the smaller rear double room, you can feel at home here with roaring open fires in the winter and a pleasant patio and garden in summer (I use them all year round!). Looking forward to meeting you!
