Relax in the serenity of Paradise View’s incomparable perspective of Whitefish Bay every morning when you awake. You will enjoy sun and moon rises from your living room, watch the birds, the freighters and the ever-changing moods on the bay.

If you love hiking or snow shoeing, bird watching, cross country skiing or photography – this is the place for you. When winter arrives, we get lots of snow!

Located just 14 miles from Tahquamenon State Park & 1-1/2 miles from Paradise.

The space
You will experience a view from every room, a cozy warm gas log stove, fully equipped kitchen, beautiful hardwood floors and heated bathroom floors for chilly mornings. Two decks, grassy yard, small (really small) beach. For snowmobiling, oversized single car garage and garage door opener. In the winter the driveway is long enough for a short trailer turn around. Master bedroom has gorgeous view from the sliding glass window and beautiful spacious attached bath. The second bedroom has full sized bunk beds (not twin) and a second bath with Jacuzzi tub and shower. We have plenty of closet space and chairs for sitting around the fire pit outside. To maintain your electrical connection, we have a whole house Generac generator. The WiFi connection is great and free, as is access to Prime Video, and other smart TV links for you to connect to your favorite programs. DVD players connected, so bring your DVDs.

COVID19 notice: Since the 10th of June 2020, the state of Michigan has allowed short term rentals in the Upper Peninsula, and we are delighted! However, the virus is still with us, so we have chosen to opt-in to the Airbnb recommendations for keeping our cabin clean, disinfecting between guests as well as all of the other guidelines. You will be able to access the entire property, with the exception of two outbuildings. That means the house, garage, small but fun beach, yard, fire pit. It's a private property, so there will be no other guests on the property. Trees separate our property from our neighbors'. No doubt, you will enjoy relaxing at Paradise View - it's all about the VIEW!!!

Neighborhood highlights

There are lots of hiking destinations in our area, Tahquanemenon Falls State Park is not to be missed. Loaded with trails and gorgeous vistas, you can cross country ski or snowshoe in the winter, with lighted trails on Saturdays in February. The Shipwreck Museum and gift shop is a popular attraction from May 1-Oct 31. Seney National Refuge and the beautiful beach by the lighthouse are always worth a visit..

Hi! We are Jim and Melinda Erickson, owners of Paradise View. We hope you enjoy your stay in our vacation home. Jim and I have had an exciting life with the Lord in our 52 years of marriage, as He has taken us all over the world. In a nutshell: Melinda was born in San Pedro, CA and Jim in Winnebago, MN. We met and married in Southern California where Jim was a paid fireman. We started our family there but soon moved to Bozeman, Montana where we owned a small business and Melinda studied and practiced architecture. God moved us to Columbia SC so Jim could attend seminary and from there we went as missionaries with the International Mission Board (IMB) to the Philippines for two years. Next, we spent twelve years in Mumbai, India and then back to the States, to Newport Beach, CA to care for Melinda's ailing father. Following his passing, we moved to Lorain OH to be near our children and grandchildren. And now, here we are in an amazing cabin in Paradise! We are in awe...this is a lovely cabin in a beautiful location in God's creation. You'll soon see what we mean when you book your stay at Paradise View.
