Elevated design & attention to detail in every corner. Our thoughtfully curated carriage house opened its doors in 2020. Located on our property, but still affords privacy. Natural elements are brought indoors to help your mind hit the instant reset and prime you for ultimate vacation mode!

The bedroom has a Queen bed & en suite bathroom.

Feel like cooking at home? The fully stocked kitchen has a Nespresso coffee machine (pods provided), a 4 cup pour over carafe (coffee not provided), hot water kettle, water filter, teas, spices, cooking oils, toaster, SS pots & pans, baking sheets, cutlery & a blender.

We also provide natural, local bath products, all linens, beach towels & a beach tote are included & the bedroom has a closet, luggage rack, dresser & under bed drawers to store your belongings.

We are located just off of a main road so you will hear street traffic, but there is still plenty of privacy. Look into the preserved field across the street to watch deer feeding at dawn & dusk, ospreys & red tail hawks soaring overhead and sunsets kiss the sky. Ask us how to access the wooded walking trail on the far end of the field! (Bring your hiking shoes, the island has hundreds of gorgeous walking trails).

Enjoy morning coffee, a book or a glass of wine at the end of the day outside on the patio. String lights set the mood and turn the patio and outdoor seating area into a cozy space. Grill your dinner & dine al fresco or sit around the propane fire pit, listening to the crickets sing with a bottle of wine and your loved one.

A paved bike/walking path right across the street will lead you into downtown Edgartown (10 min walk) or towards Morning Glory Farm (15min walk) and beyond. We welcome your car and have space for you in the driveway, just outside the front door.

Need a break from exploring the island? Cuddle up on the sofa, play a game or stream your favoirte show. Take advantage of your private garden patio & enjoy a relaxing evening together.

The hutch under the TV is stocked with interesting MV history books & other novels. You'll also find a few games for kids and adults. Feel free to log into your Sonos account (speakers inside & on the patio) and listen to music while making breakfast or getting ready to head out to dinner. Dance parties encouraged!

In an effort to help protect our fragile island ecosystem, we encourage you to bring your reusable water bottles to the island -lets cut down on plastic consumption together!

Please be respectful of our home and our belongings. A lot of time and effort have gone into making this space as comfortable as possible and we hope to share it for a long time.

We share the driveway, and the carriage house overlooks our front lawn and house (about 80ft away) but you'll have total privacy otherwise.

Other things to note
Occupancy limited to 2 adults. A small infant or child will be allowed, please confirm at time of booking. The bedroom has one queen. There is a queen pullout sofa in the open kitchen/living room. When the pullout sofa is open, space becomes rather tight, leaving little to no space inside to sit down and spread out.
Additionally, the bathroom is only accessible via the bedroom.
Any additional adult guest will incur a $100 flat fee during the stay. Please inquire at time of booking so that we may provide extra towels & linens prior to your arrival.

Neighborhood highlights

Great Harbor Getaway is most easily reached year round by ferry via the Steamship Authority with ports in the neighboring towns of Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven, either town is about a 15-20 minute drive away, or by air via flights into the Martha’s Vineyard Airport (MVY), an 11 minute drive.

Seasonally, the Falmouth Edgartown Ferry operates passanger-only service aboard “The Pied Piper” which arrives straight into Edgartown harbor, less than one mile from us.

Great Harbor Getawaty is just a 10 min walk into downtown Edgartown & a 15 min walk to Morning Glory Farm. Around the corner you will find Stop & Shop Grocery store, multiple liquor stores, gas stations, coffee shops, a small micro brewery & restaurants within walking distance, shall you wish to avoid traffic.

What we call "down island" are the towns of Edgartown, Oak Bluffs & Vineyard Haven (also called Tisbury). Most of the beaches here are public- State, Lighthouse (and its opposite end called Fuller St beach), South, Tisbury Town Beach, Inkwell, & the new OB town beach. You could also take the ferry over to Chappy & explore the trails and beaches there (get in line early! only a few cars are allowed on the Chappy Ferry at a time.)

BEACHES:
Great Harbor Getaway is SUPER convenient all of the down island beaches! There are no concession stands at any island beach, so plan on packing any food and beverage you may need in the cooler we provide.

- 11 Minute drive from Martha's Vineyard Airport
- 15 Minute drive to Oak Bluffs (Gingerbread Cottages/Tabernacle/Camp Meeting Association, Flying Horses Carousel, Inkwell beach)
- 15 minute drive to Vineyard Haven (MV Museum, Camp Jabberwocky, Vineyard Playhouse, boutique shopping)
- Take the Chappy Ferry from Edgartown & explore Mytoi Japanese Gardens & East Beach.
