Neighborhood highlights

The Little Switzerland homestead dates back to at least 1891 when two Swiss families settled at this site in Newton County and it has always been an "oasis" for travelers. In horse and buggy days travelers would stop to rest and fill their water barrels before continuing on their journey. It took three days to travel the 18 miles from Jasper to Harrison and Little Switzerland was always the first stop before heading out over the rugged mountain terrain.

Enjoy the Scenic Beauty and Natural Wonders of the Ozark Mountain Region while staying in one of our Cabins! Surrounded by Ozark Mountain beauty, we are close to the Buffalo National River with lots of hiking trails just minutes away. We're only about an hour from Branson and Eureka Springs, but return to Little Switzerland Chalets and Cabins to relax in the quiet peaceful beauty of Newton Co
