I fell in love with Polonnaruwa and it's population of wild toque macaques, Hanuman and the purple faced langurs and the elusive loris as soon as I'd finished the first session in the field one weekend 17 years ago. It's been the jungles: monkeys, birds and other animals which took most of my interest. We own and run the Smithsonian Field Research station in Polonnaruwa which can host 24 people at one time for studies or just for staying over to take a boat tour or enjoy a weekend with a stroll in the lake-bed or the forest at any time of the year. Every cent we earn goes into conservation of our habitat and the animals we study along with the maintenance of our buildings and salaries for our staff at the research station.

During your stay
We are onsite most of the time. My husband travels back and forth to Polonnaruwa but I am stationed mostly in Colombo as my son is sitting for his GCE AS in May 2016

Please inbox me if you have a query on rates as the sites only allows one rate per listing and we have reduced rates when the number of guests decrease.
