The space

Recently named as one of the 10 unbelievable Airbnb hosts in Chicago by Thrillist.

We have a private bedroom available in our home in Andersonville, a quaint neighborhood in the middle of a world-class city. The bedroom will accommodate two people very comfortably with queen bed, cable, wireless internet, mini-fridge and a large window that brings in plenty of light. Shared bath with heated tile floors.

Our outdoor space is fantastic. If you feel like relaxing in the yard all day, that's perfect. You can enjoy your morning coffee or evening drinks on our huge deck overlooking our stream and pond.
Say hello to the fish and turtle.

Our home is all access. Feel free to relax any place you feel comfortable.

We work from home and love some distraction from work. :) Both of us enjoy sharing our time with our guests. Join us for coffee in the morning or cocktails in the evening.

We love this neighborhood and hope you will too!

Andersonville is now considered one of Chicago's “hot" neighborhoods. It also enjoys nationwide renown for its unique commercial district, comprised almost entirely of locally owned, independent businesses. It demonstrates what Andersonville locals have known for a long time: that the locally owned businesses are a crucial part of Andersonville's vitality and quality of life, returning far more to the community in economic benefits and neighborhood involvement than would non-local businesses. Communities everywhere now look to emulate Andersonville as a model of a thriving urban neighborhood. Visit (URL HIDDEN) for more details. You can access the redline train or bus line to access downtown Chicago and all the attractions. Commute to City center is about 20 minutes. Visit CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) website for details about purchasing a Ventra fare card at the airport.

Main bus line (Clark 22) at the end of our block.
"L" or subway transit line (Argyle stop) two blocks walk.

Both bus line and L give guests full access to downtown and neighborhoods. Downtown Chicago is about a 20-minute ride through all the historic neighborhoods.

Andersonville is a walkers paradise with a 91 / 100 walkable score. You can rent bikes at the end of our block for $7.00 for a day. The lakefront bike path is just three blocks away, and you can ride for miles and miles along Lake Michigan. Beautiful!

Andersonville doesn't look like anywhere else!

Almost all of our businesses are locally-owned, independent and unique. The person who greets you at the door is likely to be the owner, an Andersonville resident, or both! You'll get our small-town friendliness along with the big-city sophistication of our world-class restaurants, specialty shops, and services. We're proud of our Chicago neighborhood, and we're excited to welcome you to it.

Can't recommend Mat and Randy's enough. They are lovely people in a lovely home in a lovely location in a lovely city! We found being in Anderson ville an unexpected extra pleasure and its transport links are great. Above all though, fantastic hosts!

Mat and Randy were brilliant hosts- loads of fun and a great home from home! They have a lovely garden and friendly cats who liked a good chin run; we felt welcome right from the moment we walked in. The room was very comfortable with everything you could possibly need. Thanks for the tea and all the local knowledge as well! Andersonville was a great part of town to stay in with tons of busy bars, restaurants and cafes. (Also- Mat has a great music taste! :P) Jane

It has truly been an amazing stay. The place is super cute and well designed. Everything is clean and organized. Bed is comfy. Close to subway and divvy bike station. The Swedish neighborhood Andersonville is full of pubs, good beer and wine, and restaurants to explore within walking distance. Mat and Randy are just going above and beyond as hosts. Super friendly and gave awesome suggestions. We mostly love their awesome recommendations for food and drinks, and of course, their cats.

Could not praise Mat and Randy enough, they were friendly, welcoming and helpful and made us feel more than at home. Their house is beautiful and they really do make you feel at ease. We especially loved the little touches, like fresh flowers around the house and coffee on a morning. The back garden is wonderful and we enjoyed sitting out in the sun with the cats. The neighbourhood is great - lots of shops, restaurants, bars and coffee houses. Its very easy to get into downtown Chicago, about a 10 min walk to the CTA subway stop 'Argyle', with bus stops also close by. We hope to be back sometime soon, what an amazing city Chicago is and what wonderful hosts!

Our stay at Mat & Randy during our very first visit to Chicago was more than great. A cosy house with a nice guestroom, charming hosts and a very convenient location in Andersonville make this bnb offer really exceptional. Additionally, a close walking distance to a subway station and a countless number of bars, restaurants and coffee places in the neighbourhood make Mat & Randy's house the best bnb place you could find. Would certainly love to stay there again if next time in Chicago!

We love to travel on a budget, no big hotels for us. We do our best to experience our trips like locals. We love the outdoors, hiking, camping, and having visitors. You will find us most times digging in the yard or enjoying a cold beer(s) with friends.

Mat is self employed and works from home. Randy has been a Kindergarten teacher in public schools for 22 years.

Airbnb brings travel to us and we LOVE IT!
