Awaiting you is a real Ventura Adventure--enjoy the beach and our seaside community full of artists, local events and activities, or... simply relax and do nothing!
Stay the night or stay a lil longer in a comfy 1955 Jewel Travel Trailer! Choose your location! Fall asleep to the sound of ocean waves (in Ventura) or the sound of owls in the nest of Ojai! All the comforts of home in the great outdoors! Memory Foam Mattress, Big Vintage Cooler, Fire wood included!
Add-ons include bikes, boogie boards, thai massage, yoga, meditation, firebuilding skills, I'll even cook for you over a fire! Leave feeling re-juvenated by simple living! We just added a nice dome tent for two (so you can expand your party) with another memory foam mattress!
Ventura Beach campgrounds are close to the Amtrak station and I'm happy to shuttle you to and fro. We are also right on the beach bike trail in most of our beachside locations, and Ventura makes a great rest-spot (close to town for any amenities/quick trip to the thrift for things you may need for your trip!)
Please Note: Holiday weekends are VERY competitive but if you book and stay a day or two before the holiday, we can more than likely get you a seaside campsite! Here are a few of our favorite spots (and one just outside Ventura County!) Check out the websites for more info or ask for a suggestion!
Faria Beach Campground:
I love this spot because it has hot showers and an amazing campground cafe! They make great coffee and fresh baked treats! (website hidden)
Hobson Beach: Another beach campground with hot showers and amazing Burritos made to order! If you pre-pay for your Burrito A.D. will bring it to your campsite!
Emma Wood Campground:
This one I love because I can really get into primitive camping (mind you, while enjoying my creature comforts.) During most of the year, you will have lots and lots of campsites empty! That means more peace and privacy! (website hidden)
Point Mugu:This one is just outside of Ventura County in Malibu and you will step right out of the trailer and onto the sand! It's along PCH so it's a great stop off as you head north or south!
and (website hidden)
Everyone loves Ojai ... Lake Casitas has wildlife as well as a lot of fun things to do... like a water park in the summer! You can also rent a boat on the lake... soooo peaceful!
Please note: Campsites run between $27-$48 above the trailer rental fee. (the higher price is if you would like electrical hook-ups for more light at night and if you want to perhaps make margaritas in a blender! : ) If you are interested in staying, please enquire about special offers for longer stays!
If you have bikes, it is a few miles ride back to town for an array of restaurants, thriftstores, and galleries, etc. If you'd like to rent bikes from me, just let me know!
Sort of a disappointment. Lynne promised a slot at Faria, per the description, but got a call that Friday afternoon saying she couldn't get a slot there. No offer of a refund despite the broken agreement. Instead ended up by Lake Casitas which....was a far cry from what we envisioned but made the best of it -- had a few excellent walks with the dogs. The trailer is old but snuggly in a very retro way, couldn't really figure out the lights or how the stove worked -- all a bit sketchy but I presume if given clearer directions they do work. I still think it'd be a fun idea to be up by the beach in a trailer, but our night definitely didn't work out as hoped.
Lynne is a great Host and the trailer is an amazing way if you want to live a wild and original californian dream. After a week working in Ventura, I contacted Lynne to rent her trailer, because I wanted to enjoy the beach around and surf the famous waves of the region.. Lynne organized everything for me, found a surf board, a teacher to give lessons and a bike because I had no car.. Of course the trailer was a bit far located from the town (Faria beach campsite) if you do not have a car, but riding with the bike is ok if you are used to. The trailer is not that big so you might travel light, no internet access on laptop if you do not have it on your cellular, but you have electricity with batteries that is quite enough and finally good to disconnect for a few days! I really enjoyed staying there and although the trailer is old and not very confortable when you are tall like me it was a great wild time and charming adventure.. It is a bit expensive I would say because you also have to pay the camp fees and any add-ons, but Lynne manages everything to make you enjoy your stay so it's fair. Maybe I'll come back to stay longer!
Very nice and openhearted, person, visited us twice and gave us a lot of tips. The trailer is very cosy but rather small for 3 person. It was on a campsite and not exactly how on the fotos. Small beds but clean. No toilet on the trailer, water had to be fetched. Very nice sandy beach nearby.
If you are not looking for a perfect konfort a can recomand this guest warmly.
We had to pay other 30 Dollar for the campsite.
We had two adults and a child stay in the cozy vintage camper at the beach. Great Summer holiday!
Lynne set the place up for us with all the funky and fun things you would want on holiday at the beach. The beds were very comfortable, we had everything we needed for a unique experience. The location was ideal!
Something to be said of just showing up and have everything set for you, camping without the work!
We will be back for sure!
The best part about staying in the trailer is having Lynne as a host. Although, the trailer itself is awesome and super-cozy(for two). We made plans sorta last minute and weren't really sure what to expect , but felt very fortunate to have a gracious host like Lynne. Writing this makes me long for the sound of the ocean waves crashing in the background.
I had forgotten to pack my favorite drink and discovered there was some already on the camper(Yerba Mate) Yay!
We can't wait to go on another little Ventura getaway! Maybe not on a really busy holiday like the 4th of July though..
Lynn's camper is cute and well-decorated in a vintage circus theme which we liked.
My two daughters and I stayed at Lynn's camper for 1 night on our southbound coastal road trip. She parked the camper at the Hobson Beach Park campground, which is right on the water. The hook-up campsite was approximately $48 additional (on top of cost of renting the camper), so the total was about $150 per night. I felt this was a bit high considering the camper does not have a kitchen or bathroom, although being on the beach is nice.
The double bed is quite comfy but the twin mattress needs a foam mattress topper or something- I had a hard time sleeping on it. So, would be great for two people, or three if you bring a sleeping pad or something for the twin.
My Ventucky Vintage Getaway was AWESOME! I lived in Ventura for 20 years and Lynne is my dear friend! I live in my home state of Kentucky but consider Ventura my second home! So the Ventucky Vintage Trailer suited me! It is a cozy little home away from home with everything you need to be comfortable in a beach campground setting! Lynne found the perfect space for me! I wanted hook-ups and to be close to the restrooms and Fariia Beach Cafe! I was on the Ocean side of the campground and fell asleep each night to the sound of the waves! I traveled by train from the Bay Area and Lynne picked me up at the station with lawn chairs, a cooler and ice, firewood and a blender so I could make my daily smoothie! Sweet and really creative are my best words to describe Lynne as a host and a friend! I told all my friends to come to the Beach to visit and we had a great time catching up by the ocean with a warm fire! I will be returning soon! This time I hope to camp with my grand kids!
My daughter and two friends (17, 17, 18) stayed at the Art Barn with Lynne. This was their graduation trip. They arrived home with nothing but positive things to say about their stay. In fact, "Lynne is AMAZING" has been a common utterance ever since. Thanks Lynne for making this a trip to remember!
