Where you’ll be

Monte Castello di Vibio, Umbria, Italy

The enchanting and tranquil village of Monte Castello di Vibio is centrally located two hours from Rome and two hours from Florence, and 45 minutes from Assisi, Todi or Perugia in an area that is known for its food and wine, cultural sites and fabulous art. I am happy to help advise you on your site-seeing plans.....I have been coming to this little paradise for 18 years and can arrange activities for you such as ceramic or drawing classes. I am an art professor and have an intimate knowledge of the region, its art and the wonderful little hidden gems that most tourists never see. There are two little cafes and two gourmet restaurants in the town. Numerous festivals year round complete with dancing under the stars in the summer. There are two small but well stocked grocery stores and a pharmacy, as well as a few specialty shops in the town. The town of MonteCastello is the proud home of the 18th century Teatro Concordia, the smallest theatre in the world, which often hosts lovely music concerts. The town had long been a haven for artists and writers and students from all over the world who come here to soak up the beautiful ambiance of this friendly village while working on their craft. Monte Castello di Vibio is a peaceful but vibrant place where you can mix with locals while getting to know the rhythm of Italian life. Expect to see locals out on the piazza playing traditional Italian card games on summer evenings or local school children singing or touring some of the most amazing nativity scenes in the region, which the town creates every year at Christmas time. Wake up to the sound of birds, walk to the nearby cafe for an expresso, spend the day exploring the region by electric car from Green Car, dance under the stars at various festivals in the village, travel to nearby Todi to swim in an Olympic size pool and water park in the shadow of the famous Renaissance pilgrimage church Santa Maria della Consolazione or just relax and take in the rhythm of Italian life in a hill town. I am happy to offer my comfortable and cozy home year round for your visit.
