Lovingly converted from a hay barn, Sandy’s Barn is set in the beautiful Peak District village of Foolow with quiet, country lanes, pretty limestone cottages, a village green with a medieval cross … even a picture-perfect village pond.

The Barn is charming, cosy, compact, open plan and upside down, and an ideal place to stay to explore the Peak District.

The space
Lovingly converted from a hay barn, Sandy’s Barn is full of original features, updated to create a lovely unique warm space were you can feel at home. The accommodation is charming, cosy, compact, open plan and upside down!

A relaxing comfortable upstairs lounge, with television, enjoys lovely views across the village. While downstairs a open plan kitchenette provides all that you need to cater for yourselves during your stay, including a small table and chairs for dining. Also downstairs is the shower room and open plan bedroom which can be prepared as two single beds or one king size (please advise of your preference when booking).

Outside a wooden bench makes an ideal place to relax in the sun. Dogs are welcome in the cottage, but should not be left unsupervised in the cottage at any time during your stay. Bed linen & towels are provided.

Other things to note
There is no off road parking, but parking is generally easy to find on the road outside the property.

Please note there is a spiral metal staircase in the property which may difficult for some guests or dogs. Also, the kitchen has a microwave / combination oven and halogen hob.

By default the Barn is made up as a two single bed configuration but these can also be configured as one superking bed. Please advise when you book if you need the cottage prepared as a superking.

Neighborhood highlights

Set in the centre of the beautiful Peak District village of Foolow with quiet, country lanes, pretty limestone cottages, a village green with a medieval cross … even a picture-perfect duck pond, complete with ducks. The Cottage is set right in the centre of the idyllic village of Foolow with the duck pond and village green.

The Bull's Head, just a 1 minutes walk from the cottage, offers a full bar and restaurant menu in a beautiful, traditional setting with local ales. The pub is dog friendly. There is no shop so the village but the pub sells essentials ( closed on Mondays).

The Barrel Inn in the nearby village of Bretton is also within easy walking distance, however, and is reputedly the highest pub in Derbyshire, as evidenced by the spectacular views from its front lawns.

Eyam - known as the plague village - is the closest village with a shop, just 1.5 miles away. Tideswell and Calver are 2 miles away, and both have village shops. Bakewell, around 8 miles away has a wide range of shops and 2 supermarkets.
