Little Ridge Ranch is located on a quiet country road lined with majestic Oak trees in the Marion County Farmland Preservation Area. We are close to nearby natural springs and rivers including Devil’s Den Historic Springs, Blue Grotto Dive Resort, the World Equestrian Center, HITS and FAST (Florida Aquatic Swimming and Training Facility). You will enjoy a blend of rustic charm and modern comfort, a getaway for nature lovers, families and groups looking for a quiet escape.

The space
Little Ridge Ranch has 10 acres with two homes (some call them Luxury Cabins) located on opposite sides of the property. As you enter the front gate and drive up the winding path through the massive pine trees you will find East House on the left. There is a huge screened front porch with a large patio table, chairs, and gas grill. The porch is cooled by decorator ceiling fans for comfort on even the warmest days.
The house is a beautifully furnished 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with Stainless Steel appliances, and laundry room with washer/dryer and utility sink. There is a Smart TV with Sling TV service and the ability to log on to your Netflix, Amazon Prime or other streaming accounts you might want to use. There is also a skylight in the living room that you must see to believe!
We have a firepit with Adirondack chairs as well as a saltwater pool. The pool and pool deck overlook the rear pasture so you can watch the animals, it is perfect for cooling off on a hot afternoon or enjoying a cocktail at the end of the day.
In addition to the pool and exploring the property, we provide balls, board games and frisbees. There is also a Foosball table, horseshoe pit and hook and ring game. Kids as well as Adults will enjoy our donkeys, sheep, and chickens as well as our neighbors’ cattle and goats. Please feel free to walk and explore the property (just be sure to close the gates when entering and leaving the pastures or paddocks).

Guest access
You will have access to the entire house and the property. Enjoy the star lit quiet nights around the fire pit. The rural roads offer a great place to walk, run or bicycle through the countryside. In addition to our chicken in their modern automatic coop we have sheep and donkeys, and our neighbors have cattle and goats.

If you would like to bring your horses (check ahead for availability) we have 2 horse stalls, 2 large paddocks and a 6-acre pasture where you can ride or you may want to go to Goethe State Forest or the Trans Florida Greenway or other areas for riding close by.

Other things to note
Well behaved dogs are welcome anywhere on the property, we just ask that they stay off the furniture and don't bother the animals.

Our Wally the cat is so nice, he roams the property and will likely stop by to visit during your stay but don't listen to him if he tells you it is ok that he goes inside the house! :-)

Neighborhood highlights

We are located in the Marion County Farmland Preservation Area and what is known as the Horse Capital of the World! We love our location, close to Ocala, Gainesville and the University of Florida, HITS and the World Equestrian Center. We are minutes away from Devil's Den and Blue Grotto Prehistoric Springs famous for their SCUBA and snorkeling. If you prefer to remain above the surface, Rainbow Springs tubing and kayaking is close by as well. The springs and rivers are all 72 degrees year-round. The Nature Coast State Trail is a wonderful area for hiking, bicycling and horseback trails. If antiques are your thing Dixie's Antiques is a great place to visit. Most of all enjoy the country, the star lite nights sitting around the fire pit and you will know what we mean when we say "Stay Rural!"

We are Patty and Dennis, we bought the property in February of 2019, totally renovated both homes and had our first guests in August of 2019. We have since been fortunate to have hosted hundreds of bookings and maintained Superhost Status for almost 6 years now. We recently added a pool and deck which is being much appreciated by our guests!
