Where you’ll be

Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico

This is a quiet residential neighbourhood within walking distance to grocery stores, banks, taco stands, fruit sellers, cantinas and more. Colonial, Art Deco and contemporary houses rub shoulders with more modest homes. There is a local market on Tuesdays and Saturdays where you can buy fresh tortillas, eggs, fruit, tortas, etc. The popular Saturday Slow Food Market is also close by offering great hand made products and home grown produce.

I began my Mexico adventure in 2010 when I drove down to Merida from Vancouver, Canada-a crazy 6 day journey! In the years I have made Merida my home I have met wonderful people, made good friends, soaked up the beauty and diversity of the culture and this country. I love to cook for my friends and family, garden, read, listen to music, travel and hang out with my grandsons whenever I get the chance. I have been an Airbnb host for 3 previous properties and enjoy interacting with my guests while providing an insider's view of this interesting, historical city and its surrounding areas.
