The space

Custom 4400 square foot home from 1973 nestled between the Olympic mountain range and the sea port town of Port Angeles. Sweeping views. There are 6 bedrooms, 3 used for airbnb, and 3 bathrooms. Outdoor hot tub kept at 104' year round, unheated swimming pool, large cedar sauna, decks surrounding the home, kitchen, dining and living areas all open to guest use. We are 5 minutes from the town, restaurants and ferry dock. In between the main entrances to Olympic National Park. The space is shared with various canines. We can keep them separate from guests as necessary, but an appreciation of furry ones is a major asset! There are no cats in the house.

Guest access

We provide serve yourself breakfast of fresh eggs from our chickens, yogurt, fruit, milk, juice, cereal and fixings for pancakes. In spring and summer there is a surplus of organic garden produce and herbs you can enjoy. You can use our dishes, pots and pans, spices, refrigerator, to store/prepare as many meals in the kitchen as you like. The rooms are private with locking doors, wireless internet, dressers, closets and fresh clean sheets and towels. All other spaces, including the bathrooms, are shared. 24 hour access to pool, hot tub, sauna, wifi, cable tv, living, kitchen spaces, decks, etc. Guests are encouraged to enjoy the spaces at all hours, with respect at night for those who may be sleeping. Smoking is permitted in outside areas. We have Shetland sheep, Nigerian dwarf dairy goats, 2 senior rescue horses, 2 fuzzy llamas, 3 barn cats and a flock of chickens. The animals can be viewed from the main yard and most rooms in the house. We can give you a tour of the barn, and a chance to feed some of them by hand if time permits. It is not unusual to see coyotes, deer, eagles, snow geese and heron from the house. In the spring there is a symphony of birds during the day, and frogs at night!

Interaction with guests

Myself or a helper will be present to greet you and give you a tour of the house and grounds. I am on site 90% of the time, but its a big site... If you don't see me, text any questions or concerns. I love to visit with guests if there is time, but also, privacy is respected.

Other things to note

There's a latch on the front gate we ask that you open and close again after driving in and out. You need to exit your car, open the gate, drive through, then close it again. If you see a loose husky inside the gate, please wait. We don't want him getting out. It's very important to give us an accurate arrival time so we can be here to greet you when you and familiarize you with the house, grounds and animals. If you are bringing a pet, please let us know in advance. We ask that you bring no more than 2 children. Children who are very excitable, or have trouble minding, may not be a good fit for this farm, as their enthusiasm can be disturbing to the dogs, which can cause excessive barking, which disturbs everyone. Polite children who love animals are in heaven here, from babies to teens.

House Rules
Check in is anytime after 3PM

Use of alcohol, tobacco or cannabis is fine while being relatively quiet and respectful to other guests. Smoking must be outside in the yard or on decks.

Because of all the animals on site, we ask guests to check out by 11, and to not arrive before 3. If you are staying multiple days we ask that you minimize comings and goings between 11 and 3 pm. During these hours we sometimes lock the gate so we can exercise the animals, and clean house and grounds. We want guests to understand and respect that the down time is important to keep the house and farm clean, safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Also, we need to know when you are going to arrive. If you don't tell us, I can't guarantee someone will be here to greet you. If you don't know at the time of booking, it's ok, but please give me a text or call the day you are coming.

Such a wonderful stay! Loved the farm atmosphere and the llamas (Chips & Ethan) outside our window. It was a full house while we were there and all the other guests were so friendly. Hot tub was great. View and scenery is so beautiful and yet it's so close to town. ONLY negative is shared bathrooms but everyone seems to figure it out at some point :) would highly recommend - it's an experience you'll never have at a hotel! OH! And great proximity to some wonderful Olympic National trails & sights!

What a fun experience staying on a farm! Nice and close to Olympic National Park which was my reason for visiting. The room was clean, our host Bert was friendly and responsive, and the animals were friendly too! Would recommend this room to anyone passing through Port Angeles.

Perfect location and perfect airbnb! The host was lovely, check in was very easy and we had a lovely time here. Breakfast in the morning consisted of fresh produce from the farm and the whole place was lovely and clean. Hot tub and view of the mountains were a bonus, as well as the playful furry friends. Would definitely stay again and for longer next time!

Loved this place! The animals were amazing. I got to hold goats and they wanted to be held!! Saw Rudy the border Collie round up sheep. My daughter got to feed llamas right out her bedroom window. The garden and scenery of the mountains was so zen. Would stay here again. Very inviting.

Gail User ProfileGail is a superhost.

In May 2014 I came from the city to be near the mountains and sea, to raise and rescue animals, grow food, enjoy life and share it with as many people as possible, friends and family. My favorite airbnb guests visit the livestock, snuggle with the dogs, use the hot tub, sauna and pool, tell me of their homes, work and adventures, use our kitchen to cook their meals, and leave happy. I travel a lot to Germany to visit my 4 year old grandson, and that is where the idea of sharing space on airbnb came to me. I look forward to meeting you!
