Its a huge, custom home from 1973 nestled between the Olympic mountain range and the sea port town of Port Angeles. There are 6 bedrooms, 3 used for airbnb, and 3 bathrooms. We have a large outdoor hot tub, swimming pool, decks, views, living areas all open to guest use. We are 5 minutes from the town, restaurants and ferry dock. The space is shared with various canines. We can keep them separate from guests as necessary, but an appreciation of furry ones is a major asset! There are no cats in the house.
The room is private with wave tv, all other spaces, including the bathroom, are shared. Access to pool, hot tub, wifi internet, living, kitchen spaces, decks, etc.
Interaction with Guests
We can interact as much or as little as comfortable.
It's sparsely populated, lovely and quiet. We have sheep, goats, a mule, a mini horse, chickens, and an Akbash, livestock guard dog, in addition to our crew of house dogs. We have one cat who lives in his own bedroom separate from the rest of the house.
Bus in town, hiking and biking trails.
Other Things to Note
The house is very large and open, with lots of space giving a feeling of privacy. You can store things in the fridge, use the kitchen, use any one of 3 living rooms, and there is laundry available if you need it. There are 3 decks you can enjoy, and smoking outside is permitted. We have 5 friendly, mostly well behaved dogs, 3 small, 2 medium. Bring your swimsuit, the hot tub and pool are very inviting.
Please drive slowly down the private drive to home.
Be polite and considerate of others, as we are.
We had a wonderful time at Gail and Mark's place. The animals are beautiful and well behaved. Her hospitality was spot on and made us feel very comfortable. Would stay here again!
Our experience with Gail and Mark was amazing, they were so kind and giving. The house itself was extremely nice, warm and cozy. The bed was sooo comfy. Their animals were so much fun! We had a blast and would LOVE to come back again.
Great hosts, Excellent location and clean rooms. This is a dog lovers paradise. Try playing with Rudy and you will love him right away :).
Mark and Gail are very welcoming and We enjoyed the conversation we had with our hosts. Every guest gets to use the hot tub and it was very relaxing after a long day of hiking and driving. In very close proximity to the Olympic National park. Definitely recommend this to anyone visiting nearby. Might visit the place again when we plan for another trip to the Olympic national park.
Gail and Mark were extremely welcoming and amiable. Even though i arrived earlier than expected, Gail greeted us warmly and gave us a tour of the house and even let us meet/feed/play with all of the animals. Their home is lovely and we especially loved using the hot tub during the cold night we stayed there.
Gail and Mark are great hosts, offering plenty of helpful local info and breakfast choices, including really local (from the barn) farm fresh eggs. The canine company is also delightful. Arcadia Inn had a lovely setting close to Port Angeles with a great view. Thank you!
I enjoyed my brief overnight stay with Gail and her family very much. I arrived late after a long flight and went straight to bed. The next morning Gail make coffee and we took a wonderful tour of her small farm where I met her dogs, goats, horses, mule and barn cat. It was fabulous learning about her family and our shared interest in farming. She was a very nice hostess and a good experience for my first airbnb stay!

In May 2014 we came from the city to be near the mountains and sea, to raise and rescue animals, grow food, enjoy life and share it with as many people as possible, friends and family. Our favorite airbnb guests visit the livestock, snuggle with the dogs, use the hot tub day and night, tell us of their homes, work and adventures, use our kitchen to cook their meals, and leave happy. We enjoy airbnb tremendously and are hoping to use some of the funds to improve the greenness of our lifestyle, including switching to solar in the coming months. We also travel, me to see family in Germany 2/3 times a year, and Mark on his Harley around the western US. Mark is newly retired from a career in hospital management, I am a still 100% active Jill of All Trades, (Mistress of None). We look forward to meeting you!
