Its a huge, custom home from 1973 nestled between the Olympic mountain range and the sea port town of Port Angeles. There are 6 bedrooms, 3 used for airbnb, and 3 bathrooms. We have a large outdoor hot tub, swimming pool, decks, views, living areas all open to guest use. We are 5 minutes from the town, restaurants and ferry dock. The space is shared with various canines. We can keep them separate from guests as necessary, but an appreciation of furry ones is a major asset! There are no cats in the house.
The room is private with wave tv, cable, all other spaces, including the bathroom, are shared. Access to pool, hot tub, wifi internet, living, kitchen spaces, decks, etc.
Interaction with Guests
We can interact as much or as little as comfortable.
Though close to town, it's sparsely populated, lovely and quiet. We have 6 acres with sheep, goats, 2 llamas, chickens, 2 horses, an Akbash livestock guard dog, in addition to our crew of house dogs. The animals are all sociable, and you are welcome to visit them, or help feed them. Just let us know. They are also especially popular with kids.
Bus in town, hiking and biking trails.
Other Things to Note
PLEASE give us an idea of your arrival time the day before or morning of your arrival so we can plan our day accordingly. There's a latch on the front gate we ask that you open and close again after driving in and out. You need to exit your car, open the gate, drive through, then close it again. If you see a loose husky inside the gate, please wait. We don't want him getting out.
Please drive slowly down the private drive to home.
Be polite and considerate of others, as we are.
This is a beautiful and welcoming space. The setting is great, Gail's decorative touches throughout the house enhance the serene setting. She is very generous with guest's use of the home, including providing local eggs, available coffee, breakfast foods, etc. Her introductory binder is helpful and appreciated. The dogs are hilarious and each have their own personality. The farm animals are set at a distance from the house and it was a great experience to help with their feeding.
Gail and Mark were fantastic hosts for our 1 night stay in Port Angeles. The space was exactly as described, and we enjoyed our time there. They treated us to homemade pancakes in the morning, which were a real treat :) Several other guests were present at the same time, and we enjoyed meeting new people from across the world. There was no pressure to socialize if we hadn't wanted to, but it was fun to have the opportunity to do so. The house was clean and well-maintained and our room was perfect for the two of us. The shared bathrooms were also very clean and we never had a problem gaining access when we needed them. Gail and Mark are both very hospitable and we had several great conversations. We whole-heartedly recommend their space!
My wife and I absolutely loved staying at the Arcadia Inn. The house and scenic views are amazing, and we were treated to a stunning sunset from the front yard. Dog lovers will be thrilled to be in this home (my wife's favorite dog was husky puppy named Comet). We wish we were able to spend many more evenings here, and will definitely look to stay here again if we return to Port Angeles or Olympic national park.
Gail and Mark are very kind and thoughtful hosts. If you love animals, you will enjoy there. We stayed in Ardacia Inn for two nights in the Queen room. There are three super clean and spacey bathrooms. They shared entire house except bedrooms with all the renters included hot tub, swimming pool, vegetable garden. We wished we can stay longer to get into the hot tub and cook some vegetables from their garden. Although the room is a little tight, but it is very comfortable and clean. While we were staying there, I had hard time to get out the bed because it was so comfy. It also very close to Port Angeles town center. Restaurants and grocery stores are minutes away. Prices are great. Plus, Gail and Mark have many healthy food items in their refrigerator or cabinets for their renters. Thank you for sharing your place with us. We absolutely had a great time there.
Though we were only able to stay for one night before starting our camping trip in Olympic national park, it was a great night. Gail and Mark were both very friendly and made us feel welcomed. We loved getting to feed the animals. Great location and awesome view from yard. We hope to come back!
It's an awesome place!!! When you like animals you will love it. Gail and Mark are great hosts. They share almost everything with you
We had an incredible good time over there! We loved that house: great decorations and an unplanned surprise: a fun swiming-pool with a hot tub close by. We used them a lot! Besides, the dogs were fun to play with and the little farm was very cool.
Gail and Mark were very enjoyable to talk to and they shared their farm-fresh eggs and vegetables from the garden.
It couldn't have been a better experience.
We highly recommend you to spend at least one night there.

About the Host, Gail And Mark
In May 2014 we came from the city to be near the mountains and sea, to raise and rescue animals, grow food, enjoy life and share it with as many people as possible, friends and family. Our favorite airbnb guests visit the livestock, snuggle with the dogs, use the hot tub day and night, tell us of their homes, work and adventures, use our kitchen to cook their meals, and leave happy. We enjoy airbnb tremendously and are hoping to use some of the funds to improve the greenness of our lifestyle, including switching to solar in the coming months. We also travel, me to see family in Germany 2/3 times a year, and Mark on his Harley around the western US. Mark is newly retired from a career in hospital management, I am a still 100% active Jill of All Trades, (Mistress of None). We look forward to meeting you!
