This cottage is perfect for extended stays (30 night minimum policy). It's a compact space that has everything you need in a lush, forest setting. The cottage is very secluded from all of our other cabins. It has a gravel driveway that is shared by just one other cabin. A grill & picnic table allow for outdoor dining, and a fire pit sets the ambience for star-gazing at night.

This cabin has DISH satellite and Viasat internet service exclusive to this cabin.

The space
We provide all the essentials and comforts of home. The kitchenette is stocked with a coffee maker, microwave, toaster, small 4-top stove/oven combo, cookware and dining ware. We have tried to provide everything you'd need for preparing a full meal to a basic quick fix, but if something is missing or not available, we will be happy to accommodate any reasonable requests.

A large armoire for hanging clothes and storage is provided, and you'll be sure to get a good night's sleep on our comfortable queen-sized bed.

A small table that doubles as dining and a desk area sits in the corner, and a lounger chair allows you to kick back and enjoy some TV time or reading.

The bathroom is fully stocked with hygiene essentials. It has a large shower but no tub.

This cabin is perfect for business travel. Free wifi allows you wifi calling and internet access with streaming capabilities. There is also has a cell phone booster to assist with data connection services.

We have miles of nature trails to explore by foot or on a golf-cart (for an additional charge). A beautiful creek runs through the property not far from the cottage. We are part of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Pineywood Trail, so bird watching and other wildlife is abundant!

Meadows is a no-pet, no-smoking facility.

Where you’ll be

Nacogdoches, Texas, United States

You may never want to leave our property, but just a short, 5-minute drive from us is Lake Nacogdoches. It offers fabulous fishing, recreational boating, swimming, hiking and disc golf.

Just a 10-minute drive from our property is the small town of Nacogdoches, the oldest town in Texas. It is rich in history with many opportunities to explore several museums, like the Old Stone Fort, and historical landmarks. Millards Crossing will invite you to step back in time with its small village of history and is also a popular setting for small weddings.

Visit the bustling red-brick streets of downtown for antique shopping, unique boutiques, an old-time string shop, and dining. We have live entertainment and sporting events on a regular basis at places like the Fredonia Brewery, Bonita Creek Hall, Lamplite Theater and Stephen F. Austin State University. A walk through the gorgeous azalea gardens and a hike along the Lanana Creek in the nearby Pecan Park is a sure way to enjoy nature in the middle of town.

My husband and I have been married since 1993. We have two beautiful daughters, three small dogs and a kitty. We love to travel and explore new territory. The mountains are what appeal to most of us (the youngest prefers the beach). I teach speech communication at our local community college, and my husband co-owns and operates our cabin rental business with his parents.

During your stay

Mattie and Wayne, the property owners, are an elderly couple that live in the main house. They are almost always home, but they usually run errands or go into town for breakfast on Saturday mornings and attend church on Sunday mornings. Mattie is usually the one who greets you upon your arrival. If you have questions or needs during your visit, you can go to the main house to see if they are available; otherwise, feel free to contact me through Airbnb.

My husband, Kirby, and I live a few miles from the main property and are usually available if you need something. If there is an issue with your cabin that needs attending and isn't a dire emergency, we typically try to arrange a time to work on it while you are away so that we don't disturb your privacy.
