The Cozy Cabana is a cute and cozy studio, located in a quiet neighborhood and only minutes walk to the famous Split. The interior is basic, though comfortable.

The space

This cabana hosts a maximum of 2 people and is a perfect hangout for snorkeling-, fishing-, sailing- or diving trips or just relax under a shady almond tree in the yard. Inside is a small living area with kitchen (stove/oven, fridge, all necessary utensils), half separate bedroom with a double bed and a spacious shower/bathroom. The cabana does not have hot water, but in a tropical climate you'll be happy to take a refreshing shower. Outside is a comfortable veranda with hammock.
Wireless Internet is free and there's a small library and some board games. If you like dogs, you're at the right spot, because we have 3. At day time you'll find them in the yard and they love it when you pet them. They're not allowed inside the rental, but if you don't mind, they hang out with you on the veranda.
Next to the house is our dock, which is a perfect spot for a morning coffee, sunbathing or a dip in the water. This dock also gives you a front row seat for the most beautiful sunsets.

The cabana itself is in the backyard of our famous outdoor restaurant 'Wish Willy' and from your veranda you look out over the restaurant. We're open every night for dinner, some days also breakfast and/or lunch is being served.

Guest access

As a guest you have access to all the hammocks in the yard, the restaurant and our dock. We also rent out bikes, kayaks, paddle boards and a canoe for reasonable prices.

Interaction with guests

My husband (Maurice) and I live on the same property and usually one of us is around for questions or advice. When you arrive we will give you a short introduction and if you want to we can arrange private snorkeling- and/or fishing trips.

Other things to note

There are special weekly and monthly rates and in the slow season (September-October) prices are lower (if you fill in the dates, the right price will show up automatically).
See also my other rentals: Cozy Casa (a 2 bedroom house on the same property) and Sunny Cabana (a very private cabana in a tropical yard, located at the other side of the village).

When you rent the Cozy Cabana you agree with the rules as described below and in the information book in the house. If during your stay things break down or any kind of damage is caused by not following the rules, you will be charged for the costs:
- Smoking inside the house is NOT allowed, feel free to smoke on the veranda.
- Unless approved otherwise by owner, unregistered guests are not allowed in the house. Guests are welcome to hang out in the restaurant which is located on the same property; after 11 pm no guests are allowed on the property.
- The Cozy Cabana is a self catering rental and during your stay it will not be cleaned. We provide linens and towels, it's your own responsibility to clean/do laundry. If you stay longer than a week, we provide cleaning services -if wanted- for a small contribution. Before you leave we ask you to do a basic cleaning: sweep the floor, do the dishes, take the trash to the garbage container downstairs and put all the dirty linens in one spot.
- If you use the second set of sheets, clean the dirty ones so there's always a clean set of sheets when you leave.

Wow, what else to add to this beautiful cozy cabana. Everything was perfect for our 3 nights stay in Caye Caulker. The only regret we have is that we didn't stay long enough. If you have the chance to book here, just do it. The location is great, you have access to Monique and Maurice's private dock, you can rent kayaks and paddle boards, and you have the best recommandations from the host when you get there. Monique knows how to make your stay memorable. Thanks again for everything. Xx

I had a wonderful stay at Monique's cozy cabana! It is in a great location right near the split which is a great place to swim and have a drink at the lazy lizard. Also very close to lots of nice places to eat. The island is quite small and everything was in walking distance so i chose not to rent a bike. It does get quite hot in the cabana during the day but cools down a lot at night, there are also two fans in the room. There are lots of mosquitoes in the area so make sure you bring insect repellent, the bed has a mosquitoe net over it which was great when sleeping! My wifi dropped in and out a bit during my stay but it didnt bother me too much. Monique and maurice were both really lovely and always happy to help if you needed something. I would definitely stay here again! Thank you very much for having me :) Amy

My girlfriend and I stayed at Monique and Maurice's place for our first Airbnb experience ever. To say it was great is truly an understatement. The location and vibe was perfect for us. They have a dock out front lined with mangroves and filled with sea horses. They also have rentals that I would recommend taking advantage of, and of course, great food. For snorkeling check out Amado the owner at Reef Friendly Tours. I honestly would not stay anywhere else if I came back to Caye Caulker. Thank you Maurice and Monique!

Other than the mosquitos (bring deet in the rainy season!), this was the perfect spot from which to enjoy Caye Caulker. Close to the split and the downtown area of the island, with a very distinct Wish Willy charm. The restaurant on which the cabana is located is really good a worth a try. Their dock has some shade and is a lovely spot to enjoy sunsets, view fish, or just have a beer and relax. Maurice and Monique are great people to know, their dogs are friendly, and the vibe here was authentic and down to earth. Very much appreciated our time here!

The Cozy Cabana was an absolute perfect home while on Caye Caulker- always had everything we needed, located perfectly near the split and the private dock made all the difference. Will certainly be coming back!

Originally from the Netherlands and now living on the small tropical island of Caye Caulker in Belize for more than 10 years. I enjoy the 'go slow' mentality of island life and live by the day. I'm a real dog lover and work as a volunteer at the Caye Caulker Humane Society.
