Once a run-down 1890s house, Bluestone Cottage has been beautifully renovated to the highest standards, furnished with care and attention to detail. Designed with light, space, and energy efficiency in mind, it offers a clean, fresh, and comfortable stay. Whether you’re here to work or relax, enjoy complimentary high-speed unlimited internet and free street parking for one car.

QUIET & PEACEFUL
Located in a quiet, dead-end laneway with no traffic, Bluestone Cottage offers a serene environment. It’s the perfect spot for a restful stay, with no noise to disturb you.

THE BEST LOCATION
Our corner of Fitzroy North boasts excellent public transport links, including tram, bus, and train options. For those who prefer to drive, the city is easily accessible. Lovely parks and the Merri Creek walking trails are just steps away.

STYLISH, BRIGHT & SPACIOUS
The open-plan living area features a comfy sofa, plenty of seating, great lighting, and a Smart Serif TV. Enjoy a selection of books (please return), Cards Against Humanity, and other games. Air conditioning and a ceiling fan ensure comfort year-round. The living room flows into the dining area, with easy access to the kitchen.
PARKING
Parking is available on the same street as the property. We provide a permit for unlimited street parking in the designated permit or 2-hour zones. While it doesn’t guarantee a specific spot, parking is usually very easy. If a space isn’t directly in front of the cottage, you’ll typically find one within a few metres. The permit will be left inside the house for your convenience.

2024 UPGRADES
Air conditioning was added to both bedrooms for ultimate comfort. A new tumble dryer was installed for year-round convenience. Brand-new Breville Lift and Look toaster.

ENTERTAINMENT
Free unlimited fast NBN wireless internet (250/25).
Free access to Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+, and Amazon Prime on a Smart TV.

COOLING & HEATING
New Mitsubishi split-system air conditioners in all main rooms. Hydronic heating throughout for cozy warmth in winter.

TWO DOUBLE BEDROOMS
Both bedrooms are designed for comfort with pocket-sprung mattresses, high-quality cotton sheets, and multiple pillows (low, medium, and high). The cotton is sustainably sourced from Australia. Each room has ample storage, good lighting, power points, and USB sockets.

Bedroom 1 (King): Features a tiny secret deck with a tumble dryer and airing rack. Blackout blinds ensure a restful night’s sleep.

Bedroom 2 (Queen): Equipped with a laptop desk and hidden washing machine. Bright room with no blinds.

Cook in or order takeout—our kitchen is stocked with everything we use at home: heavy-duty cookware, Noritake porcelain crockery, beautiful crystal glasses, and top-of-the-line appliances, including a Bosch oven, ceramic hob, Baumatic dishwasher, and Mitsubishi fridge.

OUTDOOR LIVING
The spacious dining area opens to a private deck with large windows, perfect for indoor-outdoor living. The deck overlooks a small native garden, ideal for al fresco dining in summer or cozy winter meals behind double glazing.

ENERGY-EFFICIENT & SUSTAINABLE
The home is insulated to the highest standard, with double-glazed windows, LED lighting, and energy-efficient appliances. We use sustainable materials, and all paints are low VOC.

COOLING & HEATING (2024)
5kW Mitsubishi split-system aircon in the main room.
Ultra-quiet 1.5kW Mitsubishi split systems in both bedrooms. Hydronic heating thoughout the house and excellent insulation ensure year-round comfort.

ORGANIC & LOCAL
Where possible, all supplies and products are locally sourced from Fitzroy North, emphasising organic and Australian-made items.

Guest access
Bluestone Cottage, including the courtyard, native garden, and outdoor dining area, is yours exclusively for your stay. We ask that you be mindful of our neighbours and the residential setting of the street.

Early check-in or late check-out requests
We are generally unable to honour requests for early check-in or late check-out. If your travel arrangements require you to arrive or depart later in the day, we suggest you reserve an extra night to meet your needs. This guarantees you can check in or out of the house at the most convenient time for you.
