The Space

We are proposing for short-term rental a 83m2 (900 sq/feet) apartment for 3-4 persons, right in the medieval heart of Uzès (a tower, connected to the apartment may be additionally rented).

This apartment is very clean, nicely furnished, and secure. It is located on the 3rd floor of a freshly renovated 3 stories, 16th century, typical Uzesian style house.
The tower has two floors. The first one is used as storage and dryer room. The second is a summer lounge with a 360° view of the city, its monuments and surroundings (local “garrigue” vegetation).
The apartment includes:
- a living room (31 m2), plus a kitchen-dining room (11m2),
- a master bed room (Queen size bed), calm and great view (17m2),
- a second bedroom with 2 twinsize beds (11m2),
- a bathroom and WC.
See house photos - (website hidden)

The rental includes TV, broadband WIFI, a washing machine, 2 bikes, house linen, a secured and covered parking space (next door).
Uzès, 1st french dukedom, is a very charming and historical small town, worldwide known for its medieval castle, its old street and alleyway, its places and monuments (“place aux herbes”, tour fenestrelle…), without forgetting its famous factory and museum of the candy brand HARIBO.

All services (bars, restaurants, shops, antique stores…) are located within a 5 minutes walk. The saturday farmer market (fruits, veggies, meat, fish, local products & arts) located on “la place aux herbes” (1 minute walk) is one of the top 10 nicest french typical market (see Uzes and surroundings photos).

Uzès is the ideal base camp to explore this fascinating part of France (Pont du Gard et gorges du Gardon, the “garrigue” (french southern vegetation), les Cévennes, Arles, Avignon, Nîmes, Montpellier…), hiking and biking trails, river canoeing and swimming.
- large antique/flee market every sunday (1 km),
- clean public pool, and horsing center (1 km),
- golfing (3 Km),
- canoeing, and river swimming (6 Km),
- Mediterranean sea(80 Km),
- bus connexion to TGV train station (2.5 hours ride to Paris) in Nîmes (20 Km) and Avignon (40 Km).

Be carefull, the shops are closed very early, try to arrive before 4 pm

Guest Access

Les voyageurs ont accès à tout l'appartement à l'exception d'une tour qui domine Uzès et qui dispose d'une vue exceptionnelle. Cette tour peut être louée en option (100 €/séjour et/ou 100€/semaine)

Interaction with Guests

N'habitant pas Uzès je ne pourrai vous réceptionner. Vous serez reçu par une amie (Monica) qui vous donnera les instructions et tous les renseignements dont vous aurez besoin.

  • This apartment was a perfect choice for our week in Uzes. Centrally located in a secure building with separate secure parking, it was an ideal base from which to explore the area.

The apartment was spacious and cool - which is essential for summers in France.
The space is thoughtfully and practically furnished , and having had the opportunity to buy some produce at the wonderful Saturday market, we were able to dine in one night. Otherwise, we took advantage of the various dining options promoted by the lovely Monica, who met us on arrival. Monica also very graciously made herself available to deal with any problems that may arise. Happily, none did.

We took advantage of the tower which has wonderful views and was a perfect spot from which to enjoy a cool rose or two in the evening.

The bedding configuration allowed us to enjoy a good night's sleep - or a late afternoon nap under a fan which we really appreciated, given that we had a few days of particularly high temperatures.

All in all a fantastic apartment which I would thoroughly recommend for short or longer stays.
    Thanks Michel and Monica.

  • Fantastique !

  • Another in a long line of satisfied visitors. The apartment is outstanding. It met all our needs. Spacious, well set out, excellent facilities, views, privacy and what a bonus the secure parking is. Add Monica our host to the mix and we can't rate the apartment highly enough. The town itself helps no end. It's a pretty place with much to do in and around the surrounding area. This is our second visit and won't be the last. Now we have found this apartment we have somewhere outstanding to stay as well.

  • Excellent accommodations, tasteful decorations and lots of space with some charming views. Great location close to all the amenities of old Uzes - without being on the actual square which could be noisy and crowded at times. For those considering this location there can be some traffic noise at certain times of the day and for those wanting exercise, the 59 winding stairs to the door will provide that. All considered an excellent place to stay.

  • My friends and I fell in love with Michel's flat and with Uzès. We originally rented the flat for 6 nights and I ended up staying for an extra 2 nights as it was too hard to leave!! The flat is really spacious, bright, comfortable, very clean, the kitchen is fully equipped, which is essential, as buying food on the Saturday market and cooking at home is a must. The flat is in the heart of Uzès but is very quiet so you can have a very good night's sleep. The view from all rooms is really pretty. The flat is near the organic food shops, the swimming pool and the big green area where you can go for walks or have a nice picnic. The garage is a plus too. Monica, who greeted us, is really lovely and friendly, and she gave us some very good suggestions about what to do in and around Uzès. I would definitely go back!

  • Fantastic experience! This apartment was indeed charming, and spacious, clean, well-equipped, light-filled, perfect really. We had planned to venture far and wide but this village and this apartment kept us heading back to Uzes. Michel was very easy to contact and Monica, our host in Uzes was delightful! She was patient and flexible when our train was 2 hours late on arrival. She ensured we were very comfortable in the apartment, left us with a comprehensive collection of package of pamphlets and maps to aid our planning. As visitors she spent time with us giving us a real taste ffor the region and its people. The underground secure carpark was a real bonus.
iving us a real ta ste for this region and its people! The car park

  • We travelled from St.Circ. to Uzes and arrived in this vibrant town in full sunshine. The weather had been bad during the previous week but was looking great for the start of June. We were met at Paul's wonderful apartment by his agent in Uzes, Monica. This lovely lady could not help us enough, and with perfect English, gave us an excellent briefing on the workings of the apartment and the basics of the town, including, market timetables and things to do and see. Thank you Monica. The town is touristic and very alive. Markets on a Wednesday and Saturday are not to be missed with the larger version being on the Saturday. Monica pointed out "Le Comptoir du 7" restaurant as one not to miss. We went on a Friday night and had the most delicious meal. The chef (at the time of writing) is a master! The apartment is single level, at the top of a flight of stairs, but it does have everything you need and is very comfortable and easy to live in. Although situated perfectly near the heart of the town the double glazing keeps it very quiet and noise was never a problem. The parking provided is excellent, and very secure. All in all, we would definitely return to Uzes and stay in this lovely apartment again.

  • My husband and I had a wonderful time staying in Michel's Uzes apartment with Monica looking us very well.
The apartment was just beautiful. The views were amazing, and it had all the ambiance one would hope for in regional southern France. The markets were a great experience along with the village walks. We would highly this apartment.

  • Michels place was wonderful! The location, views, the private parking space... It was very spacious and comfortable. It was nice after a long day of exploring the area to be able to return there and relax. Four of us spent 6 nights and cooked breakfast and dinner everyday, the kitchen had everything you could need. The washing machine was nice to have, it meant we could pack light. We traveled all over the area by car and the area is very beautiful. There are plenty of restaurants near the apartment and there was a big grocery store on the road heading into the center which was convenient. Monica who met us at the apartment was very nice and both check in and check out were easy. I highly recommend Michels, I'd love to stay there again.

  • Staying at Michel's apartment in Uzès was our first time using airbnb, com to find accommodations. We had used local-based apartment rental services in Berlin, Dubrovnik and Ljubljana with success, but had not tried this service before. Our apartment could not have worked out better. The location and space were perfect. The flat is located on the top floor of a building in the center of the village with shops, galleries and restaurants just out the door. There is plenty of room with two bedrooms, a bathroom with a shower and washing machine along with a separate toilet. The kitchen is well-equipped and the living space is very comfortable with large windows that make for a sunny place to read and relax. There is wireless Internet, though if you are family of multiple device owners like us (4+ Apple products), not everyone could surf simultaneously. The village itself is very beautiful and friendly. The rental includes garage parking, which is very convenient in a town that has limited street parking. Uzès is perfectly located between Nimes and Avignon, and is nearest to Le Pont du Gard. The countryside is beautiful. We had several good meals, but also were able to find provisions to cook in the apartment.

Michel lives in Paris, so we never met, but his lovely and gracious friend, Monica met us at the appointed meeting time in front of the main cathedral after a 30 minute drive from the TGV station in Avignon. Monica got us settled and gave us lots of good tips and was very helpful as Michel's host in residence. We stayed over the New Year's holiday, so I would stress that NOTHING is open in Uzès on New Year's Day, other than the McDonald's out by one of the roundabouts out of town. Fortunately, we had made trips to the shops so we had plenty of provisions.

I would happily return to Uzès and to Michel's apartment.
