The space
Grace River Island Resort is a QUIET, tropical island on the Caloosahatchee River accessible via a land bridge, giving the appearance of a peninsula. It is a perfect location for family vacations, friend vacations, honeymoons, weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries, etc (extra fee applies if more than 16 people), or just some much needed time away. When you stay at the island, you will have a large 6 bedroom 8 bath house with beds for 20 people, a large clubhouse, swimming pool, gazebo and large deck. We feature a dock for large and small boats in a protected bay directly on the Intracoastal Waterway (Maine to Texas). It is the perfect place to RELAX, REFRESH, and RECONNECT. Quiet hours are 10pm-8am and low sound volume during the day.

As you enter the gate to the property, the driveway lined with traveler and queen palms stretches ahead of you. As you continue up the drive, you will occasionally glimpse the river and more tropical flora, and soon you will see the 4700 square foot island house which has a 2000 square foot deck, a beautiful kitchen, a large living room, and a family room, and six bedrooms. The house has well appointed finishing/prep kitchen for events large and small. An air-conditioned sunroom with a live edge table (seats 24 people) overlooks both the river and the pool, making a great place for dinner and to fellowship and play games together. You can explore the river and many bird species with our 3-person and two 1-person kayaks. If fishing is your pleasure, we have 4 fishing poles available and a bait shop close by. There are many salt water fish species that call our river home. Early morning is the best time to see dolphins, manatees, shark, and tarpon. Bring your boat and dock it in the tranquil bay. We have a private boat ramp and there is a public boat ramp nearby.

It is a delight to share our beautiful, quiet Island with you. Come relax and let your stress melt away.

Guest access
Our property is gated and guests have access to the entire island including the house, pool, clubhouse, and all the outdoor areas.

Other things to note
Our island is in the middle of the river and has other properties all around it. Sound carries over the water so music must be kept at a minimum level during the day and STRICT QUIET HOURS are 10 pm to 8:00 am each night. This noise policy is strictly enforced and includes music, yelling, & raucous behavior.

Neighborhood highlights

We have many close neighbors across the bay and river and who can hear noise easily across the water. Our neighbors enjoy the quiet solitude of the river and enjoy their nights of quiet sleep.
Sweetwater Marina is 5 minutes from the island where you can rent a pontoon boat (based on availability) or dine at Boat House 31 which is a great outdoor restaurant right on the River. Downtown Fort Myers can be reached by a 20-minute boat ride (longer with the the Nov-Apr Manatee zones) or a 15-minute car ride. There you will find shops, multiple restaurants, and other nightlife.
There are two large supermarkets (Publix and Winn-Dixie) 2 minutes away as well as Circle K, Dollar General, and Family Dollar for all of your convenience needs.

Mike and Karen have a vision to serve others and create a place for family and friends to relax, refresh, and reconnect. Mike and Karen have hosted on AirBnB for over 6 years. They had a three story home on 2 ½ acres where they raised their three children. When their last child moved out, they had a big house with empty rooms. Mike’s brother recommended they do AirBnB. They were a little skeptical, but moved forward with trying it out. Immediately a friend had an emergency and needed a place for their family to stay and became their first guests. The first year was a time of learning and growing. By the second season they were fully booked and decided to add a kitchen and make a 2nd AirBNB space. Deciding it was time to downsize, their wonderful property was sold. Mike and Karen then moved to a place on a canal, just off the Caloosahatchee River. Mike won a boat in a raffle drawing and they began exploring the area by boat. On one of their ventures they found a wonderful, tropical island property and knew it could be shared with others, just as they had shared their other home. They purchased the property, named it Grace River Island Resort and started renting it in October 2019. In August 2020 Mike and Karen added a 2nd vacation rental home directly on the Caloosahatchee River. In December 2020 they added a 3rd vacation rental home on a canal 1 minute from the river. In January 2023 they added another large vacation home that sleeps 14 directly on the Caloosahatchee River. Mike's passion for family vacations began 40 years ago as boy when his parents and three children were vacationed with Mike’s extended family every year at a lake resort in Minnesota. They were able to connect with each other during their time together having fun playing games, fishing, shopping, water skiing, and enjoying meals together. The families didn’t live close together and the week at the lake allowed them to have the bond of fellowship each year. This tradition has lasted 40 years uninterrupted and has grown to include great grandparents, grandparents (including Mike and Karen), parents, and children. At their 3 vacation rental properties, Mike and Karen welcome you to gather together to relax, refresh, and reconnect finding the same bond of fellowship they in found with their families during their vacations.
