~A Little Closer to Nowhere~

A one-of-a-kind eco-travel experience, Floating Camp Roam is a simple - but comfortably equipped - houseboat that happily lives on Pemaquid Pond in Bremen, Maine. While aboard, you will seamlessly integrate into your surroundings while enjoying visiting loons, sweeping sunsets, and clear northern air.

Come experience the most unique camp in Maine!

Roam (& her brother Floating Camp Nomad!) are now offered in conjunction with the exclusive Otyokwa Lakeside Cabins.

The space
Please Note: **For liability purposes, guests are not allowed to drive or operate Roam**

This floating space offers you the simple feel of a tiny house, the aquatic intimacy of a houseboat, the close natural connection of camping – all in one immersive lake vacation experience.

Roam can comfortably sleep up to three adults (if you're willing to get cozy), but is more comfortable for two, with one double bed and one single bed both in the main cabin. There is plenty of outdoor space with a forward and aft deck, along with an upper deck accessible by ladder.

So how does a visit aboard Roam work?

Upon your arrival, your host will greet you, direct you where to park, and help you unload your luggage. Roam will be waiting for you dockside a short distance away. After you settle in, we'll make sure you have all the information you need for a comfortable visit.

Your host will then shove off from the dock for a quick ride out to your moored location a few hundred feet off shore. Here, you’ll enjoy the simple joy of waterborne living - take advantage of the swim ladder and plunge in the refreshing lake water, or enjoy the outdoor sun decks, cozy reading nooks, and lounge-worthy space.

You’ll remain on this lovely floating oasis until the morning of your departure, at which time your host will meet you aboard Roam at the pre-arranged time for a quick motor back to the dock.

Roam will remain on the mooring unless your host is at the helm, but if you'd like to explore more of the lake while aboard, privately chartered cruises may be arranged separately.

While you're onboard, consider enjoying the following activities:
- Devour that pile of books that have accumulated next to your bed
- See who can name the most constellations your first night
- Take a morning dip in the lake
- Step on to the upper deck and flow through a few sun salutations
- Master your pour-over coffee technique

Enjoy being unplugged and untethered from your stress ashore!

Where you’ll be

Bremen, Maine, United States

Lake Pemaquid lies only 1 mile from saltwater, the Medomak River, and Muscongus Bay. The towns of Damariscotta, Round Pond, and Bristol on the Pemaquid peninsula are the jewels of mid-coast Maine and popular destinations unto themselves. As beautiful as the camp is, your possibilities of saltwater activities, day trips, hikes, and wildlife excursions are almost limitless.

I'm a person who appreciates new experiences and seeks out the best in people. I love the outdoors and having easy access to fresh air and natural light is something I crave. I'm friendly and always happy to chat, but will absolutely respect individual privacy and allow for experiences to reveal themselves.

During your stay

By design, your experience aboard Roam will be a decidedly unique one. We want you to be sure that we are always reachable if you encounter any issues or have questions, and we have a 24/7 accessibility policy. Cell phone reception is usually good at your moored location - calls or texts work great - but certain cell phone carriers may have little to no data service. We'll make sure you're comfortable with your ability to contact your host during your time aboard.

We provide check-in and check-out transportation aboard Roam to and from your moored location on Pemaquid Pond at the pre-arranged times; all other movement from Roam is at your leisure and on your timeline.
