Interaction with Guests
We generally greet our guests on arrival and departure, and are available by cell phone should any questions or problems come up. We are available for you if you need us, otherwise we let you enjoy your stay. Friendly, quiet neighbors on both sides of house.
East Downtown is the best part of Austin-we love living here. It's vibrant--new restaurants, bars, art galleries and trailers pop up all the time. The new boardwalk on Lady Bird Lake is a quick jog or bike ride from the house, and from there you can access natural spring fed pools and beautiful outdoor recreation spaces. Austin is a bit hot in the summer, but a very fun place year around. See links provided on the guidebook section for more details about the neighborhood.
We are two blocks from a metro rail stop, and there are several bus lines from one block to three blocks away. There's a bike rental stand two blocks away. We are in the car2go zone as well.

Sara left coffee, snacks, drinks and local brews for us, making us feel very at home and welcomed. The home was beautiful and just amazing. We could not have been happier with the house or the location.
Sara's house was beautiful and she was great! She even got snacks prior to us arriving. I went for work to be close to downtown Austin and everything was in walking distance! I'd definitely stay there again.
We had an amazing stay at Sara's East Austin home. The house is beautifully renovated and was a perfect space for the 3 of us who stayed. We booked the home for the weekend of SXSW interactive and it ended up being a more ideal space than most hotels. Our hosts provided snacks, fresh eggs, coffee, beer, and access to their garden. Working on my laptop in the screened-in porch while enjoying coffee in the morning was quite relaxing. The location was ideal, just a short 10 minute walk from downtown and quiet at night. It was also easy to get to via taxi or pedicab from downtown when we didn't feel like walking late at night. The bedrooms were nicely separated, gave lot of privacy, and the common areas were spacious and comfortable to be in. The hosts provided a blow-up mattress and bed in a separate room with pocket doors which allowed everyone to have their own private space. The check-in/check-out process was a breeze. Overall a 5 star experience, we'll definitely be back!
I love Austin and the interesting people that share this great community. In particular, I love Central East Austin--just a few blocks from downtown. From the East Austin Studio tour to SXSW to the great restaurants and people, Central East Austin is the place to be.
