This was worker housing for the sawmill located on this site in turn-of-the-century Prescott. The bunkhouse-style floor plan is about all that is left of those days -- you will stay where the mill workers lived. They shared a bathroom (now, that's all yours) that opens out to the yard, as do all the rooms. The bedroom & bath is accessed from the living room by an outside door to the yard. There is a large kitchen, opened to the living room. Please tell us if you are bringing a dog when booking.

The space
PLEASE NOTE: BOOKING REQUESTS MUST TELL US IF YOU ARE BRINGING A DOG. (YES or NO) If yes please include the weight of your dog. BOOKING REQUESTS WITHOUT DOG INFO MAY BE DECLINED. Your dog is not to be left alone in the Bunkhouse. No pee pads. An evaporative cooler is used to cool the Bunkhouse in the summer. The bunkhouse is approx. 720 square feet (including the bathroom) but we chose "tiny House" as the type because of the small bedroom and unique old style layout, with all the rooms opening out to the yard. (Which is a great place to hang out in the evening). There is a propane BBQ and propane campfire ring available on request for your enjoyment. The 50's kitchen is large with an apt. size refrigerator and Propane gas stove. The kitchen table seats 2, and seating for 4 is in the front yard. There is parking for 2 cars with easy access -- no steps at all. There is one queen size bed, and the couch, so the limit for guests staying here is 3. The 3rd person can sleep on the couch or on the foam mattress on the floor. The bedroom has a queen size brass bed and a cute desk for your laptop with WiFi. Fresh eggs from our chickens (in season) are in the refrigerator for your breakfast.
You have your own private kitchen with: coffee maker, toaster and toaster oven, microwave and stove.
We will accept one Dog: (no cats as we are allergic to cats)
Our yard is available for you to enjoy with your 4-legged friend. One well behaved mature dog under 40 pounds is welcome with approval, but will have to be on a leash with you because our yard is not completely fenced. Deer walk through often! Sometimes a coyote comes by, so keep your dog close! Your dog is not to be left alone in the Bunkhouse unless it is crated. We have a crate you can borrow.

NOTE: You must go outside and walk through the flagstone porch about 10 feet to get to the bedroom and bathroom from the kitchen and living room.
Due to the seasonal creek, we do not accept children under 12.

Due to Covid 19 the Bunkhouse will be vacant at least one day before your arrival.

Where you’ll be

Prescott, Arizona, United States

We are 3 miles from Thumb Butte Recreation Area, and are .5 mile -- easy walking distance -- to Safeway and the Starbucks in the store. We are just South of the West Prescott Historic neighborhood, across Copper Basin Rd from Mountain Club, in a very quiet neighborhood with lots of dog walkers and mountain bike riders! The shops in Downtown Prescott and the Courthouse Square are 1.5 miles from us. One of our favorite places is the Prescott Brewing Co. right on the square and only a 5 minute drive away. In 2022 the Whiskey Off-Road Mountain bike race route will pass our corner, so we can watch the bicycle race from our yard.

Retired couple from Seattle, now living in Prescott AZ We have been traveling using airbnb for 7 years, and we have stayed at other Bed and Breakfast places long before airbnb was available. We travel with our pet African Grey parrot, Dylan and appreciate being able to take our pet with us. We love dogs, but do not have one of our own right now. Since we have settled down in Prescott, AZ we decided we would like to be hosts and meet other travelers.
