Where you’ll be

Three Rivers, California, United States

Three Rivers is a bit of paradise on earth. Nature at its most glorious. There are many activities for those who crave adventure - hiking, river rafting, mountain biking, horseback riding and boating - are some of the available options in the area. Or, simply have lazy days by stargazing, birdwatching, and relaxing.

Three Rivers is also an area that is still largely wild and untamed, where unexpected things can occur and where sometimes nature rages and can possess a threat to one’s safety and well-being. Therefore, you must always take responsibility for your own safety and those in your party.

Please bear in mind that ANY ACTIVITY YOU UNDERTAKE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. We are sharing the environment with plants, animals, insects, etcetera. There is poison oak and other noxious plants on our property. Once you have learned to identify them, they are easy to avoid: poison oak, thistles, goathead, and stinging nettles (see photos with their descriptions). Sometimes deers and turkeys wonder into our property so treat them with respect. Bears are present during late Fall/early Spring and should not be approached at all. The Sierra Nevada is known as a rattlesnake habitat. Bites and stings do not occur often but they can happen. Most creatures are not naturally aggressive but they still pose a threat to those who are unaware of their habitat and/or threaten them. Please watch where you walk, especially at night. Use a dim flashlight and bear in mind that snakes, skunks, etcetera are also nocturnal.

The Treetop House is well maintained; it is always kept clean and tidy. However, it is still possible for bugs/critters/insects to find their way into the house. There are a variety of spiders (e.g., black widows), wasps, yellow jackets, bees, rattlesnakes, kissing bugs, scorpions, mosquitoes, ticks, bats, and various wild animals. If you get stung please inform us immediately. When possible, please keep the bugs/critters/insects for identification purposes. The following - Rabies, Lyme Disease, Bubonic Plague, Hentavirus, and West Nile virus - are extremely rare in our area but we do want to notify guests as a precautionary measure.

Please exercise sound judgement and common sense. Your safety is our priority and it should be yours as well. Our property sits on a steep hillside. From the deck, you will have a better visual of how steep it is. If you desire to walk around the grounds of property, please be extremely cautious around the steep hillside as you want to avoid tumbling down into the ravine. Rocks on the property can be slippery so please be careful. If you are walking beyond the boundaries of Treetop House, be cautious as we are in a rural area where barbwires, crumbling structures, splinters, uneven grounds, bumps and holes, slippery/jagged rocks and unpredictable wildlife are all around us. Please do not wander outside of our property or disturb our neighbors.

Treetop House sits proudly in a wonderful and welcoming community. We respect our neighbors, and we implore our guests will do the same. Please keep excessive noise and loud music to a minimum.

By entering the property of Treetop House, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners with respect to any and all claims, actions, suits, proceedings, costs, expenses, damages, liabilities, including attorney's fees, arising out of, or connected with your use of these premises and any injury or death resulting to you or any member of your party.

At this point, there is NO riverfront access. We have not cleared the way to the riverfront. Please DO NOT attempt to go down to the river. You can enjoy the sound of the rushing river from the deck or the living room area (with the windows open). On wonderful winter nights, with the fire roaring, it can perhaps, lull you to sleep.

Biking: There are many biking trails in and around Three Rivers. There are over 165 biking trails in and the more popular trails are Case Mountain trail or Skyline trails. For more information, refer to the following website:

Boating: One of the favorite activities in this area. Kaweah Marina provides patio boats, fishing boats, and paddle boards for rent. Reservations are often required for the summer months especially on holidays and weekends.

Azza and I are your hosts. We are both transplants who were lured to Southern California by the coastal air, eclectic arts and restaurants, and the feeling of community. Chris enjoys roasting his own coffee and surfing, while Azza is an avid reader and writer, and amateur photographer. We have both traveled extensively through Asia, the Middle East, South America and Europe and constantly long for our next adventure. When in LA, our favorite activities together are gardening, browsing at the local flea markets and enjoying the local food culture. Both our Venice Bungalow Oasis, and our Treetop House are our own homes and are shared with our guests with love and care.

As hosts we aim to provide our guests the space they need to feel comfortable, while being available to share as much information as we can in order to help them make the most of their visit. Whether you are new to Los Angeles, Venice or Three Rivers, and here to explore, or a regular visitor who needs a nice clean place to call home during your visit, we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
