Weavers’ Loft is a spacious two bedroomed property conveniently situated in a quiet side street, a 2 minute walk to a well stocked Co-op supermarket, close to Kirriemuir’s shops, cafes, pubs and takeaways, and half a mile from Kirriemuir Golf Club. It is a 12 minute drive to Forfar, 35 min to Dundee, and 40 minutes to beautiful beaches.

The space
Weavers’ Loft is conveniently situated in a quiet side street, only a 2 minute walk from Kirriemuir town centre and a 1 minute walk to the local Co-op.
On an elevated site, it has amazing views of both the town and hills to the south from the upstairs lounge. The property forms the upper two storeys of an attractive traditional red sandstone building of the type typically found in the town.
Entry is on the left of the property, with stairs leading to an inner door. The lower floor comprises shower room and WC, a large, bright master bedroom, and a further double bedroom which contains a trundle bed, with the flexibility to make two single or one kingsize bed.
There is a comfortable kitchen diner. You will find lots of kitchen equipment, including oven, hob, microwave, condiments, breakfast cereals and preserves if you wish to self cater rather than use the many takeaways in town.
The dining area is large enough to contain two easy chairs.
Up a further staircase you will find the magnificent full length loft lounge, with 2 large Velux windows giving views to the south. You can view both the morning sunrise and the moon and stars at night, from the sofa. Just take care of the coombed ceiling if you are on the tall side. Outside Weavers’ Loft there is a good sized enclosed garden, with a sunny patio and lots of colourful plants in summer. There is a covered area for cycle storage.
The flat is furnished for the comfort of visitors, but also for my personal use as a holiday home so is much more homely than a purely functional short term rental space.
I have a friendly neighbour downstairs. Guests are requested to be respectful of his property and not cause undue noise.
I have traveled a lot myself and have tried to provide lots of extras that you may have occasional need of whilst on holiday.
Parking on the driveway is not allowed. There is usually no problem in finding a parking space on the road outside.

Where you’ll be

Angus, Scotland, United Kingdom

Kirriemuir is an ideal location for exploring the wonderful yet largely undiscovered county of Angus.
It is known as the Gateway to the Angus glens, where you can enjoy peaceful walks, challenging climbs, view wonderful scenery and see wildlife, including beavers. RSPB Kinnordy is nearby.
Kirriemuir itself has four museums - a rare Camera Obscura, Tayside Police Museum, the Council run Gateway to the Glens Museum and JM Barrie’s childhood home. There are a selection of independent shops, (please support them during your visit); cafes and pubs; 2 parks, one with a pirate themed play area, and the other with an impressive waterfall. Do visit the Star Rock, Scotland’s oldest sweet shop.
The town has historic links to J M Barrie, author of Peter Pan. It also celebrates its links to AC/DC’s frontman Bon Scott, with an impressive sculpture and an annual festival in May.

Don’t miss exploring the town’s amazing nooks and crannies and red sandstone architecture, or try climbing in the quarry.
It’s a 35 minute drive to Dundee where you can visit the recently opened, but already world famous V & A design museum as well as RRS Discovery, McManus Galleries and Broughty Ferry with its castle, beach and independent shops.
Visit coastal towns and former fishing villages such as Auchmithie along the Angus coast, or play golf at some of the many courses including Kirriemuir, Forfar and the challenging Links Open Championship course Carnoustie. Don’t miss Arbroath’s stunning coastal cliff walk.
Glen Clova is best known of the Angus glens, but equally impressive are Glen Esk, Glen Prosen and my personal favourite, Glen Isla, with its newly reopened hotel.
As a keen cyclist I can assure you that you will be in cycle heaven on our quiet, scenic country roads with plenty of essential coffee stops en route.
There are a couple of excellent restaurants within easy driving distance, Armstrong’s and The Drovers.
