The space
This elegant apartment is located in a wonderfully-maintained historic building that dates back 7 centuries. It has been recently remodeled in a beautiful, traditional Tuscan style that has been updated with modern touches. The apartment has a large open-space living area, a delightful terrace, a well-equipped kitchen, a cozy bedroom, sleeper sofa, and 2 bathrooms. The apartment is right in the city center, so you are close to everything Lucca has to offer!

This apartment is located on the first floor (European) of a lovely historic palazzo. You can access the apartment via the stairs or the elevator. It has been recently remodeled in a beautiful style of traditional and antique Italian furnishings updated with modern touches.

The building is in an unbeatable location in a quiet little courtyard, just 100 meters from Via Santa Croce, one of the main streets that bisects the center of town. Since you are right in the heart of town, you're a 3-minute walk from 3 small grocers, cafes, the main cathedral, 10 restaurants, and a number of shops. It doesn't get more central than this!

Upon entering the apartment you will be impressed by the apartment's beautiful wood and metalwork ceilings with exposed wood, steel and tiles. The living area features a huge antique dining / work table and ample space for relaxing.

You will love the beautiful and secluded terrace that offers an outdoor area for dining and relaxing and a storage area with washing machine.

The bedroom and living room are equipped with air conditioning and independent central heating. The double bed is furnished with all new 160 thread count 100% cotton linens, your choice of down or synthetic filled duvets, and your choice of synthetic or down pillows.

Please note that the bedroom is windowless. To assist, we have installed a custom-built system that simulates natural lighting cycles as if from a skylight.

The kitchen is equipped with all-stainless counter tops, 5-burner cook top with full gas stove/oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, and bar. It is fully-equipped with new cookware and serving pieces.

The bathrooms are each beautifully decorated in marble tile are equipped with a showers, sink, and toilet. The master bathroom also features a bidet.

The palazzo's enviable location makes it ideal for exploring all that Lucca has to offer. Since it is located in the physical center of the historic center, all of Lucca is no more than a few minutes away on foot. From here you can explore the amazing boutique shops that line Via Santa Croce and nearby Via Fillungo, visit the city's museums, theaters and concert halls, eat at any of the dozens of excellent local restaurants, and, of course, go for a leisurely stroll on the city's astonishing (and enormous) city walls. Being flat, Lucca is very bike-friendly and bikes (and pedal-cars) are inexpensive to rent for the day at any of a number of local shops.

Lucca is also the perfect city to explore all of Tuscany. Lucca uniquely combines an important mix of ingredients that we believe you'll find nowhere else in Tuscany. Its location is perfect for exploration: 30 minutes from the Leaning Tower and Pisa International, 30 minutes from the beaches of Viareggio, 45 minutes from the mountains, 60 minutes by train to Florence, and an easy 1-2 hour drive to Siena, Volterra, and the rest of Tuscany.

This is a really charming, bustling part of Lucca, full of local grocers and boutiques. Stepping out your front door, you'll be right in the heart of the city, with all that you need within a 5-minute walk. The best local grocers are less than 30 seconds from your doorstep - it's an incredibly convenient place to call home for a little (or a long) while. We've lived in this neighborhood for 7 years and wouldn't think of moving anywhere else in the city.
