Riverside cabin is located on a small guest ranch in Clark, about 30 minutes from Steamboat Springs. From the cabin, there are huge mountain views on both sides, one with aspens and the other with pines, as well as the river, which is directly across the county road. The cabin itself is artfully decorated with a western style, blue-stain pine ceiling, and a working fireplace that makes the entire cabin light up with a homey ambiance. Note: there is limited cell service and NO wifi in the cabin

The space
Our cabin and greater ranch property are unique because of our intimate location in a mountainous valley. We are located close enough to Steamboat Springs for guests to enjoy the downtown shopping, Strawberry Park Hot Springs, and the Steamboat Ski Area. However, we are also just far enough away for guests to feel remote. We love offering a getaway for guests to relax and enjoy the nature around us and will connect you to any activity of your liking in the area.

Where you’ll be

Clark, Colorado, United States

Riverside cabin is on the Elk River Guest Ranch in Clark, CO. The neighborhood is very quiet as we are surrounded on three sides by the Routt National Forest. The town of Clark is very small, and as you drive through it the population is listed as a question mark :) We are a ranching community with large hay meadows as you drive from Steamboat, while the ranch itself is tucked in the Elk River Valley between two large mountains, one of pine trees and the other full of aspen trees. There is a general store (Clark Store) which contains a post office, very good deli, liquor store, and general goods store, all in one. The Hahn's Peak Cafe and Hahn's Peak Roadhouse are a nearby fifteen minute drive and are a good place for meals if you are interested in eating out during your stay. Or, Steamboat Springs has every dining option you could imagine!

Barry and Debbie Smith - we have lived in Steamboat now for nearly 40 years.... have 4 kids, all grown up now. Its been fun to watch them grow up and get to live the life here.... skiing, biking, hockey, tennis, fishing, horses.. and too much more to list. Since the nest is empty we've built a barn to live in just west of town and have been doing some renting of our family house. In the summer we run a kayak school that operates right here on the yampa river going through Steamboat. Barry has been running this for over 30 years now. In the winter Barry teaches skiing and is a nordic instructor examiner and former demo team member. Rough huh. Deb (me) worked nearly 30 years for the Steamboat Ski Area as Director of ticket and group sales, then for the Lowell Whiteman High School development office and the Orton Family Foundation developing a community information site (Website hidden by Airbnb) We welcome you to stay with us and are happy to answer any questions you might have...
The cabins are being managed by our son Marty and his better half Jenny... they know the Clark area better than anyone and can guide you to adventures to suit your plans
