The space
Guten Tag (Hello) from Dan and Nancy!

We're Dan and Nancy, owners of retrohaus and two of five siblings. When our parents passed away recently (after living in retrohaus for over 60 years!), we decided to convert our childhood home into a funky guest house to continue creating warm memories in this special place where we shared so much loving family time.

We've renovated the home, keeping as much of the original structure as possible, using many furnishings we grew up with, while also modernizing the home for comfort and style with a groovy German flair. We now want to share retrohaus with you!

We've shared lots of photos on this page (above) of our home with some commentary on the history of our family's time in the house if you're interested.

Where you’ll be

Hermann, Missouri, United States

Hermann is a quaint, historic German town founded in the 1830's. Our village has many historic buildings, museums, antique shops, and restaurants. Our claim to fame is the many wineries, breweries, and distilleries in addition to the many wonderful German themed celebrations throughout the year: Wurstfest in March, Maifest in May, and Octoberfest every single weekend in October. We are situated directly along the Missouri River on the Amtrak route. The Katy Biking Trail also runs through our village.
